I can't find anything on the Fort Wilderness campground. We're interested in taking our fifth wheel. Can anyone help? Pics would be great. Any other information would be great too.

I don't get it. This is a joke, right?

She obviously posted this originally in the wrong forum.;)

Tight knit group, huh? ;) I just didn't know that the campground and cabins were at the same place. I know, I know. We usually stay at POR and I was a little out of the "loop". I've never looked into Fort Wildnerness with anymore depth than ooh it would take two days to drive with a camper, well forget it. DH says he'll go with us again if we camp. The one pic that I saw of the loop looks like where we stayed on Hilton Head Island, not really what you would expect out of a campground... better. And the prices for everything is extremely reasonable. Thanks for your help and for not throwing a firelog at me for my obviously stupid question.

I'm just a fellow camper too. We camp from the time the campground opens until it closes here. But we do our camping at the lake and the beach on occasion. Where does everyone do their camping when they aren't at WDW?

By the way, I'm a litigation paralegal, you'd think I could do proper research. :rotfl2: I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Other than FW, we like the state parks. I am planning a fall trip to Maine.

Glad you found us. The Fort is always ranked as one of the best campgrounds in the US. We're heading down next week and wouldn't trade it for a top room at the Contemporary. If your family's into camping, go ahead and call for a reservation. Just trust us.;)

New England in the fall..there is nothing more beautiful! :thumbsup2 We used to vacation quite a bit in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. However, in that neck of the woods there aren't too many campgrounds open after Columbus Day.(some close prior to that) Leaves are peak usually in September, and falling off in October(chilly..chilly!) I like mid to late September.

Just wanted to say "Welcome" and don't mind them..(they can be an ornery pirate: bunch...nice..but ornery sometimes. Only kidding guys...really :lovestruc only kidding..(I told you how they can be!). Besides we have to know you a whole lot better before anyone would throw a fire log at you. ...there are NO open fires in FW.

I've always wanted to go to New England. DH says it gets too cold and he only wants to go where it's warm. :sad2:

I was only kidding about the fire log anyway. Glad to be included.

We camp at Green River in KY twice a month from Spring until it closes in the Fall. We've also camped on Hilton Head Island which was beautiful. I am trying to DH to agree to a trip to Colorado, etc.

Once you camp at the Fort, you'll want to go back over and over again. It's addictive I think...as is camping in Colorado and Wyoming. When you're ready to go to Colorado, let me know. I have great parks and activities to suggest.
