Hi Everyone,

Just got back from spending 7 nights in FW cabins. They are beautiful and very private eventhough they are somewhat close together. It was soo nice being able to cook pancakes for breakfast!

The transportation system is somewhat lacking. It took my husband 45 minutes to get from the campfire to our cabin and back. The trip is probably less than two miles each way. The boat ride to MK was nice but also time consuming because they always stopped at WL after they picked us up. Also leaving the park, the line was very long one night. My DH and DS waited 1.5 hours for a boat.

We used our own vehicle to get to the rest of the parks. Much quicker and convenient. We loved the location of the campground in comparison to where the parks were located.

The next time we stay there, we will ask for a different loop. We were in the 2800s which is in the loop farthest away from the resort festivities. It took us 25 minutes to briskly walk to get to the boat. There are no where for cars to park except at your site. Try to get loop 2100 or 2200.

I am excited to tell about our trip so please feel free to ask questions.

We stayed at the cabins in Sept. Our only complaints were the small trashcans in the kitchen and the dim lighting. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay. This was also our first Disney trip! We rented a golf cart and that made getting around a whole lot easier. However, we were at the end of the 2300 loop right across from a bus stop. The internal buses ran very regularly, I know from the noise. Thankfully, we were too tired to notice after our first day at the parks! We also took the boat to the MK and for the rest of the parks we used a combination of buses and our own car. Just curious, why would you walk to the boat dock instead of taking the internal bus? We also enjoyed the Campfire Sing-a-Long and the petting zoo. Also had a couple of good meals at Trail's End. We were amazed at the size of both Disney World and the campgrounds!

I'm also staying at the cabins in 2 wks and I have a question regarding driving your car to the parks...........Did you have to pay for parking if you take your car?

If you are a resort guest. You just present your resort id card or resort parking pass and parking is complimentary at all locations within wdw.

I am sure you will enjoy FW. We have never really had problems with the bus service never waited more then 15 minutes for a bus. I think most of us are not used to public transportation and we are so eager to get to a location we feel like we are wasting time waiting for a bus.

When you check in you will be given a parking pass to put on the dash of your vehicle. That will be all that is needed to park at any of the parks. Once the CM sees that on your dash, he/she will wave you through.

We loved the cabins too. I must say, I thought they were very quiet, especially at night. They may be close together but you don't share a common wall with other rooms or hear people screaming down the halls. That's a nice thing.

One thing I have to say though is a golf cart is a VERY convenient mode of transportation. I know it adds a daily cost but when we were there we were 2 families in 2 cabins and we split the cost of one cart. VERY VERY convenient.

We drove to EPCOT one day and it was such a pain. We parked so far away and just missed the tram. It was so much more convenient to use the golf cart to get to the bus station and then take the bus. I know this could be a pain if you have to take 1 or 2 internal buses and then a bus to the park, that's why the golf cart makes such a difference. I enjoyed just driving it around the campground too, it was so beautiful.
