Hi All,

I'm considering the cabins at Fort Wilderness for an upcoming trip. I'm not a big fan of buses (not a fan of waiting for them ;)) so I'm wondering if we can just walk from the cabin to the boat launch to get to MK. We will have 3 kids, including one likely in a stroller, but in general don't mind walking. Is this doable? We've walked from the Yacht Club to Epcot and the Boardwalk before. How does the cabin to boat walk at Fort Wilderness compare to that?

Thanks!

The cabins are at the other end of the campground then the boat dock, it will be a very long walk and many buses will pass you on the way. Jump on the bus

We always asked for 2100 loop for a cabin. It was a bit closer .However depending on how old you are it is very doable AND enjoyable. And yes if you get tired along the way you can hop aboard a bus. My family has stayed there a few times and always walked to the boat launch then we took buses back at the end of our day. Either way enjoy it's agreat place to stay:thumbsup2

I was the same mind as OP--didn't want to deal with the internal busses--but when we stayed in a cabin in July/August I found them to be wonderful. They were abundant, efficient, and QUICK! We did rent a golf cart the last few days we were there but quite honestly, I was very impressed with the busses.

We've stayed at FW a couple of times, and had no bus issues either, just wanted to throw the golf carts out there in case the OP wasn't aware. I may get one the next time we're there, just to get around FW! They look fun. :)

YES I forgot about golf carts on my previous post. They are fun ::yes:: I always liked to plan a day just roaming around FtWilderness on them. Extremely relaxing day !! Gets you to the stores-the pools-the campfire movie and at holiday times people really go all out to decorate their campsites so it's fun to drive around and view.

Thanks for the info, everyone!

I don't want to rent a golf cart because I don't think it would be worth the extra expense. We're planning to drive to all of the parks except MK anyway. Sounds like the buses won't be too much of a problem, or we can just walk. Maybe walk in the morning and bus back in the evening. :)

Thanks again!
