This is our 3rd trip to Disney and had never been on it, we absolutely loved it! In CA brother bear's *can't think of the name* was a lot of fun too with all the rope things and rock climbing.
When you say you went "on" it, are you speaking of Tom Sawyer Island itself? I believe the question was about the Fort in the back of the island, which to my knowledge is closed until they figure out how to upgrade it. I had heard that it was an original log cabin from Walt's days and the wood was rotting. They were trying to figure out how to preserve it without having to completely remake it.
That would be great if the fort was opened again. Too bad they got rid of Huck and Tom.
Am I mistaken, or is the whole Island much smaller than the one at WDW? Of course, Aunt Polly's is our favorite place to eat at WDW, so I guess it may be the perception because we spent more time there....
I've never been to WDW, but I can tell you there is no Restaurant on the Island. As of November, the fort was closed due to rotting wood and would have to be rebuilt to re-open. The rest of the island was refurbished not that long ago and is wonderful - tons of caves big enough for adults to climb through while chasing our kids

Nope. The Fort is still closed. I loved running through that place when I was younger too. I now love pretending to be Mickey doing Fantasmic on the stage! But it is still quite fun. I love meeting Tom & Huck. They are a blast to talk with and usually very cute.
We went on Tom's island and played around there. Went through the caves and went in one smaller fort. Is the fort you're talking about near the cemetary? It's real big? If so, that was closed, but the rest was open for exploring.
