We just booked a last minute-ish cruise out of Miami for October. I am usually someone who plans way in advance, so I am feeling a bit of stress! I am looking for a hotel to stay in the night before we sail, probably in Ft. Lauderdale, as this is where we will be flying into. We will arrive at 6:30 PM so really just need something nice and clean and preferably in a good neighborhood that is safe to walk in and some restaurants we can grab dinner at. (Fast food is even ok with us! :) Does anyone have experience with the Embassy Suites on 17th, the Hyatt Place on 10th, Hampton Inn Plantation, or Hampton Inn on Commercial Blvd? These seem to pop up as some nice options that are close to FLL and about 30 mins from Port of Miami. Also open to other hotels you have been happy with! Thanks so much!

We are staying at a Courtyard by Marriott near FLL the night before and trying out the Brightline for the first time getting to Port of Miami. For $27 a person one way you get access to the lounge at the station and snacks/beverages in the lounge and on the train. Free shuttle to and from each train station.

Wow! That sounds like a very unique experience! Where does the Brightline drop you off at? Right at the Port of Miami, or do you have to uber from the station to the port?

The Brightline terminates at the train station in Miami and then they offer a first come first serve shuttle to the port. Makes stops at each terminal not sure where Disney is in the stops.

We used the Brightline train in April and will be on it again in a month.

The Miami Central Station is not far from the POM - not walkable, though.

We took the train from Fort L and stayed overnight at the Hampton Inn Brickell. Very nice surrounding area. Multiple restaurants. Publix 2-3 blocks easy walk. Starbucks and Dunkin closeby for morning coffee and doughnuts.

We used a Lyft from train station to hotel and hotel to port. Will experiment catching the Brightline shuttle this time.

The Fort L station is >6 miles from FLL (the distance for catching a free ride provided by the train). We used a taxi. It was there at the airport, so easy.

Train fare is $10 or $27 adult, one way (no savings for RT).
