Hi everyone...

One more question.... This may seem like a stupid question..sorry. I usually use powdered formula for my son with the filtered water from my fridge. Do you just use tap at Disney or bottled?? How does that work?? :confused3 Sorry.. I have two kids, you would think I'd know the answer to this ... but in my defense.. I have two kids...lol... and mommy brain.

Thanks,
Genie

we've been many times while my 4 kids were still on formula :thumbsup2
-- we found that using the powered mix and bottled water worked the best for us. I got my kids used to room temp bottles before our trips. We always did a grocery stop (but now we use gardengrocer.com for that, saves sooo much time!) and we'd pick up a case of bottled water. I used the container that divides the formula and brought a couple of room temp bottles & we were set for the day. I was afraid of the different tap water upsetting their tummies while they were so little and didn't want to chance it on vacation. Actually, every time we traveled while they were still on formula we bought bottled water to mix it with.
HTH, have a great time!
BTW -- no need to apologize for "mommy brain", we all have it!:rolleyes1

Do the same here. Both my kids just got room temp bottled water from the start so they were used to it. I would just pack a bottle or two and we were good to go. I don't like Florida tap water so I imagine it would be even worse for the little ones. :goodvibes

Thanks!!

I wasn't sure about the bottled water, but that's a great idea. I couldn't imagine bringing 7 cans of ready-to-feed on the plane.

I have to ask, though.... gardengrocer??? what is that? We are staying at the Fort Wilderness cabin .. with a kitchen. Food would be lovely. :)

You guys are great!!

Same for us....room temp bottled water and powder forumula.

gardengrocer.com is a grocery delivery service. We've used them for the past few trips and they are excellent! If you're going soon I would check out their site to see if they have delivery dates available, they fill up quick! I think there's a min order but once you order diapers, water, milk, wipes, etc it adds up fast. IMHO, it's worth the delivery fee to not waste time shopping and driving on vacation! ;)

I learned the hard way NOT to use the tap water for DS. He was not used to it and ended up withthe pops for days afterwards. NOT fun!

Use bottled water and either the to go tubes of formula or the divided containers for the formula.

We brought a large container of powder from home and used room temp. bottled water. They sell it in all the hotel gift shops.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll do that... a huge thing of powdered formula. My sweetie likes his bottle room temp or cold anyway. I guess with the "second child" we just never really warmed it up for him. :rolleyes1

My first son was a cold bottle drinker. Boy did that make it easy. my 2nd son was a luke warm kinda kid. When he was 3 months old we were at disney and we used bottled water. And my advice is take more formula than you think you will need. The little one might go threw a groth spurt while your there and drink more than normal. Also in case of emergency and you do run out They sell formula in the resorts, but expect to pay for it. $$$

they still like things that way too. older one loves lots of ice, younger one likes it warmer. My ying and yang they are.

We bought some formula bags (I like better than the prepackaged ones because I can measure out exactly the amount needed) from One Step Ahead and use bottled water to make formula when we are out and about. I plan to try using cold water this summer and see how dd reacts.

Yep, i bought the largest can of powder i could then went to walmart and bought a case of bottled water...during the day I already had powder in the bottle so all i had to do was add the water.

My wife and I aren't bottled water people. We drink lots of tap water. We only buy bottled water to have while driving or to pack in a lunch or something like that.

Our kids drank their fair share of powdered formula before their first birthdays. We always used just plain old tap water to mix it, whether we were at home or away. Never had a problem.

No health risks associated with this, by the way. My wife is a board-certified pediatrician. When new parents ask her about tap water, she says everyone needs to make up their own minds but that there is no medical reason to avoid tap water.
