Former SNL comedian death...suicide??

I found an article today online that said that former SNL comedian Charles Rocket was found dead in a field over a week ago. His throat was cut. Now today the coroner has ruled it a suicide! Is that even feasible? Wouldn't someone have to be awfully desperate to die to slit his own throat? It sounds very fishy to me.
This is on AOL news and was on Drudge earlier today.

I would say. The only way I can imagine that being possible was if it was drug related somehow.

But I know nothing about forensics, I don't even watch CSI ;)

I saw it on CNN. He was the father in Hocus Pocus.

I tried to post about this earlier. Seems strange to me.....

I read it on CNN also, and it was on my local news in CT. The only information they gave was when he was on SNL, why he was fired, and where he lived, which is only 5 minutes away from me and this is the first I am hearing of it.

I distinctly remember the episode of SNL where he dropped the F bomb. On live TV. You should have seen the looks that his fellow castmembers gave him. Oops. Regardless, it's sad to hear of his passing.

I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on the DIS,
but I knew someone who did slit his own throat.
The only reason he survived was because he
was out on his front lawn and the police were able
to grab him before he cut his carotid artery.
I agree that it's such an extreme thing to do that
likely drugs would have to involved,
or in the case of the guy I knew it was deep psychosis.
He truly did not know what he was doing to himself, he was out of his mind,
however he did want to kill himself so that was the catalyst.
It's a shame when anyone manages suicide successfully.

I knew of a women who lived inour neighborhood who committed suicide by stabbing herself in the heart. She lived with mental illness much of her life. When the police first arrived at the scene they had 'detained' the husband, because obviously due to the nature of the incident, as the police said no one would kill themselves but stabbing themsleves in the heart! The husband was present when she killed herself, as she knew she was going into another major round of depression. The last thing she said to her husband before she lifted the knife up and killed herself was, "I'm not going to go through this again." The took the husband immediatley to the precinct so he wasn't even able to be with his wife when they transported her to the hospital. When the coroner arrived at the scene about an hour or so later, the coroner immediately told the police that this was definitley a self inflicted wound, and the husband was released. I can't imagine how one gets themselves in to such a depth of darkness to kill themselves in such a horrific manner.

Shame really.

I didn't recognize the name, so I had to see a news story to see the photograph. We Tivo all the older SNL's, so I'll have to look for him now.

His obscenity occurred during a Who Shot JR skit? I just watched a newly released Best of John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd and one of them had a Who shot JR sketch in it.

A good CSI type person can actually tell if the wound was self-inflicted based on angles, the depth of the wound etc.

Does anyone have a link to a picture? I can't place the name...

Go to Cnn.com, and you will find the story on the bottom of the home page.

To me he sort of looks like Richard Lewis.
