We are debating whether or not to attend formal night. Is it possible to have that dinner brought up to the room as room service? I don't want to miss the lobster ( hoping this is served) but don't want to dress up either. TIA

No, they won't bring dinner up via room service.

However, MANY people will not be dressed up. You can truly wear any cruise casual you choose, you will feel comfortable, the servers will make you welcome, and you'll enjoy the lobster or whatever else special you choose from the menu. Lots of cool things to think over and decide for your cruise, this doesn't need to be one of them. Just do it.

Unless you are in certain conceirge rooms you can't have your MDR dinner delivered to your stateroom.

Plenty of people do not dress up for formal night, or only dress up as "much" as they do for the other nights. Formal attire is not required. We don't wear formal attire and have never felt out of place on formal night. You will see everything from shorts to tuxes !

Lobster is usually served on semi-formal night. Also, not sure if this is your first cruise but we have found that the lobster is really not that good. It is Caribbean lobster not Maine lobster and was very tough. Many people still seem to like it though.

Usually*** On the Fantasy, Formal night( night 2) your dining room will be serving the rotational menu.

The lobster is served on the Captains Gala menu, which may be semi formal night, usually the Thursday night.

But yes, don't worry about dress codes, you will not be turned away from the dining room if you're "not dressy".
I think the only no-no would be coming in wearing a bathing suit........

Have fun!

Agreed, its not that good. The servers are alway surprised my husband doesn't order it. We have had in the past where they will bring him out one on the side. He feels bad to turn it away, so we kind of just cut it up and "play with it on the plate".

The last time I dressed up on a Disney cruise I felt way over dressed. So I donated the ball gowns to charity and feel much more comfortable wearing a nice blouse and slacks, or a cocktail dress. Or church dress.

Except on a Christmas cruise. Families often dress up to have formal pictures taken before dinner -- before spilling food on themselves and/or eating so much the clothes are too tight.

Thanks for the replies!! This is our first 7 night cruise within the US. Our 8 night Magic Med cruise was out of Barcelona and there was no lobster on that cruise at all.

Fantastic news about the attire. My husband wears a tie all week for work and when on vacation does not want to wear one :) Slacks and a dress shirt for him it is. You all have just made his cruise so much better :)

I wear slacks a dress shirt and depending on what my wife is wearing may throw on my blazer. And I am on the dressy side usually.
