Formal Dinner

Our family of 7 (6 adults, 1 child) would rather not take formal clothes or dress up for dinner. We prefer a casual vacation. I am confused with all the discussions about dining rotations and it seems that everyone is scheduling Palos for their formal night. My question is: What would we be missing if we skipped the formal night(s) and had buffet or pizza? Is the food different on formal night?

This is always a hot topic. Part of the Disney magic is certainly the atmoshpere they plan for their guests in each of their dining rooms. No other cruise line offers this unique rotation and the experience is well worth *dressing* for. In the rotation, one dining room is scheduled twice. That repeat night is the most popular for scheduling Palos so as not to miss the experience of a single dining room. The food may not be different on formal night in comparison to each of the three dining rooms, however, Palos menu is definitely special. The experience in each dining room absolutely will be different. The whole ship was buzzing our formal night. The excitement was like static electricity in the air and the line for our first *cruise portrait* was full of amazing energy. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Happy sailing.
