Hello all! My name is Nicole, and I live in Canada. I have a DD almost 10 and a DS almost 5. I was thinking how awesome it would be to have some international pen pals with children similar in age. I think it would be amazing for children (and parents) and a great way to learn about another country!!

My DS12 spends most of his time chatting to his friends and cousins on skype. I can't get him to write a message in birthday cards at all must less write a longer message. It seemed so much more simpler in our day.

My DD is 13 and DS almost 12 so I think they might be too old for your two. But don't be disheartened, give it time and more of us will be bound to come on later. It's just after 3pm here for most of us - the end of the school day and a few hours short of the end of a working day, so there'll be more people on in a few hours or so.

I wish my eldest would do this, but he really doesn't like writing . I had pen pals when I was young, and it was fantastic to learn about othe countries from other kids my own age.

I have a almost 9 yr old dd that I guarantee would love to have a pen pal. Even more exciting to her would be that the pen pal was from Canada (which we will be visiting in a few months). I have a 4.5yr old ds, but he's no where near writing, so no help there sorry. Let me know if you're still interested.
