If you arrive at a DVC resort at say, 2:30 am on a Wednesday morning, does that count as a Tuesday night check in or a Wednesday check in?

I'm thinking it counts as Tues nite, but MS is closed and I thought I'd throw it out there!

A lot of people have had issues when checking in that late. You get whatever is left over. It is probably a better idea to stay off site on the night you arrive and check in Wednesday morning.

You might consider a value or moderate resort on WDW property. You can arrange to have your luggage moved over to your new room.

I was shocked to find out the the all star disney resorts are $77.00 a night. Atleast they are for the Friday and Saturday nights we will be staying in the summer. We are conserving the weekend points and checking in to the Wilderness lodge on a Sunday.
Maybe you can consider that since they will transfer luggage and such.
Just a thought.

This is for our Vero stay, and I was thinking of doing a redeye that wouldn't knock us off schedule too much (like when we come in at 6:00 am - that's a killer!). I'm still trying to sell DH on the idea...

Yes. We are ariving at 11:00 pm. and staying at All Stars (with our carry-ons), then BWV next morning. The ME people said to tag the luggage for BWV and it will go directly there in the morning (w/o it being routed thru All Stars).

I'm not trying to be a smart aleck with this answer, but it depends. If you want to go to bed when you get there, then it is Tuesday night. If you don't want to go to bed until Wednesday night, then it is a very early Wednesday check in for that night.

I don't think you can check in until 6am or later.

From what we've seen with info from this site, I'd say 5-6 AM is about the earliest one could check in and not be charged for the night before. Apparently it depends on when the computers are cycled. But to get a room, you'd likely have to have it for the night before. I agree with the staying elsewhere idea. For that early, I'd just get a cheap off site that's convenient from the airport, maybe the fairfield on 535 or similar.

You are correct. There is an "earliest time" you can check in. I was just illustrating. If you intended to stay up, you probably wouldn't care that you had to wait a couple hours. I believe that I have been told that the computers are usually recycled by about 4:00 am each day and that they are down from about 1-3 am to do the recycling as I recall.

I got one of the best rooms ever when I checked in after midnight. It was a great room.. When I got there the front desk had all my stuff waiting. (I had not planned to be so late, but there was a thunderstorm in Atlanta so it was around 2 am!) So while your milage may vary I always just book. I don't like to move LOL! (ANd the WORST room I ever got.... checked in at 8 am....)
