Can you get into the various hotels without staying there? I know you used to be able to get into the DLH and PP, but, last I was there, I couldn't tell if you could go into GC from DCA. Thanks for the help.

Certainly. I think most of the resorts love for visitors to stroll through their lobbies, visit their shops, eat in their restaurants, etc. Now there are some areas that require key access, such as the pool areas. Anyone can enter GCH from DCA or DTD, but sometimes you will need to show your key to enter DCA from GCH since this is supposed to be an exclusive entrance for DCA guests.

I was there yesterday and I ate at Whitewater Snacks. I wasn't staying at GCH (or any hotel; I drove). On my way back to DCA, there was a sign saying that the entrance was only for registered guests at GCH. I didn't want to walk around, so I tried anyways, and the CM simply scanned my pass and let me through without question. I wonder if there really are CMs that refuse to let you in through that gate if you're not staying there.

From my experience, you are most likely to be asked to show your hotel key at the DCA entrance in the mornings when the lines are longest for security and the main DCA entrance. I have been asked a few times and have seen a couple of guests turned away, but I think it's always been in the AM. Later in the day, CMs do not tend to enforce the "exclusive entrance" rights for GCH guests only.

When we were there end of July we walked in to GC from inside CA to have a look. No problems at all. You do have to get a hand stamp, then show your ticket and have your packs rechecked when you re-enter. It was beautiful.
