Please forgive me for asking this question since it doesn't pertain to the Disney Cruise line, but I'm in desperate need of help.
My 82 year old Mother and I are thinking about going to Alaska in May 2003. Which ship do you prefer? Norweigan Sky, or Carnival Spirit? I was able to find a rate of $1,104. for 7 nights, including airfare from Denver. We don't know the first thing about cruising. Are we going to freeze during that time frame? Thanks for your help.

Maybe someday in the future, your question may pertain to Disney Cruise Line, if they decide to expand and build more ships, but not for the immediate future.

I had an Alaska Cruise booked for May of last year with Holland America and I cancelled it. My DW and I chose Holland America because they are known to be a little more upscale and less of a party atmosphere than the 'Fun Ships'. I'm not sure of NCL, I think it depends on each ship in their line. I would suggest choosing one of the newer vessels from whatever line you choose.

I cancelled our May cruise because the weather would be quite chilly in Alaska in May, it's the beginning of the cruise season. We were going to make an extended road trip vacation out of it with the cruise as the center piece and I was worried about getting into and out of Vancouver and the Northwest, since I would be driving west on I-80 and I-90.

they both are rated pretty well...
the spirit is a bit newer than the sky (the sky is from 1999 i think and the spirit was built in 2001)..
my suggestion to you is go to www.cruisecritic.com and look at the reviews there..
