We're flying in late. Not as late as the 11pm arrival that caused no end of headaches on our last trip but I did book an evening flight. Mostly because it was cheaper, but it is also easier since we're leaving my van home for DH. My mom is picking us up so she'll have 45 min to get here, then we've got a 2 hour drive to the airport, and we allow 2 hours to clear security and get to our gate. All of that is easy with a 5pm flight but exhausting when we book for a morning departure!
We fly out of Detroit Metro, but we won't get the wanna-be monorail experience this time because we're flying out of the smaller terminal. I prefer this over the main terminal so when Airtran offered a decent fare I jumped at it. Every time we fly Airtran I tell myself we'll stop to grab something from Earl of Sandwich in the terminal but we never do. Maybe this time, since we're flying out around dinner time, we'll remember!
Boo has no idea where we're going, only that we're going to be taking Pocahontas to a Girl Scout event. I haven't decided how or when to tell her, but I'm thinking maybe we'll just head for the Magical Express bus and see how long it takes her to figure it out.

With such a late arrival we're not doing anything but checking in once we arrive. We're going to be at All Star Sports for the first time. It isn't my top choice, but it was the value option for the Girl Scout rate and I wanted to be at the group hotel for the early morning transportation to the event.
I'm sure we'll swim a bit. We won't have good swimming weather at home until mid-June at least so pool time is always a highlight of our Disney trips. Even in January they swam more days than not.
Since this is our first trip without a dining plan, I'm looking forward to hitting a few highlights of non-participating restaurants. So for our first night at WDW we're not planning on a Disney restaurant for dinner. We're ordering pizza from the highly-recommended Giordanos. Then it will be off to bed to prepare for a very busy day!

We'll start the day at Epcot for the Bridging into the Next Century ceremony. I think I'm looking forward to this as much as Pocahontas! I can't wait to see what Disney has planned. The event starts at 8 and appears to be scheduled for about 2 hours, followed by some character meet & greet opportunities and other associated events. I didn't book the breakfast add-on, so I figure we'll probably wrap up the Girl Scout part of the day around the time World Showcase is opening.
The only real priority at Epcot after the event is Soarin'. I'm hoping the fastpass return isn't too ridiculously late by the time we get back to the front of the park, because ideally I'd grab FPs, ride Living With the Land, have a bite to eat at Sunshine Seasons, and then ride Soarin'. If the return time is too late in the day, however, we'll just ride standby.
We'll probably also have to stop in at Boo's favorite ride because I don't think she's ever passed by without riding. She absolutely adores Figment and knows almost every word to "One Little Spark".
Then we'll head back to ASSp to rest for a while. I hope I can get the girls to nap or at least lay down for a bit, and I'm bringing the TV cable for our iPod to help with that - The Muppets on the TV and the curtains drawn will hopefully do the trick! We don't normally take midday breaks but we have a very late night ahead.
Dinner is at my personal favorite Disney restaurant, California Grill. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've dreamt of their sushi, and since this happens to be my birthday as well as Pocahontas' Girl Scout event I decided to splurge. I might even order myself a custom cake.
After dinner, it is off to the Magic Kingdom for some evening EMH fun. Right now the park is scheduled to close at 10 with EMH until 1am, but I'm hoping when the update comes out that will change to 3am. I absolutely love the Magic Kingdom after midnight, and since Boo is a great stroller-sleeper we've gotten to enjoy some really late nights with her. On our March trip she slept from about 11 to 1, then woke up for the last two hours of walking on all the Fantasyland classics.
I'm sure by the time we get back to the room we'll all be asleep before our heads hit the pillows.

My mom and Boo get to sleep in, but Pocahontas and I are off on another early start. Thank goodness the kid is as commando as I am!
We're booked for the "Many Cultures, One World" class that is an add-on to the Bridging event, so once again we're starting our day at Epcot. Check-in for the class starts just after rope drop and the class itself runs from 10 to 11:30, so once again we'll be finishing up around the time the World Showcase opens. I expect that by then, Boo will be up and we'll be able to catch up with them at Journey into Imagination or the Seas. Once again we're only spending a little time at Epcot, with the Seas and Spaceship Earth as our main priorities. Then we'll be hopping away again...
We have reservations for lunch at Yak & Yeti, thanks to my Landry's Select Club birthday reward. From there we'll spend the afternoon exploring Animal Kingdom a bit. Boo is finally tall enough for Kali and Pocahontas loves Everest. AK isn't the greatest park when it is hot, though, and my mom has a hard time with the uneven, faux-natural pathways so I don't expect we'll stay all that long.
The rest of the afternoon and evening will be over at Studios. I don't plan on hitting the headliners, but the non-headline attractions, shows, and characters always fill quite a bit of time. Top priority is the Disney Junior dance party, which is only held on evening EMH nights and which we've planned on attending but ended up skipping on the last two trips. I'd also like to catch Fantasmic if a second showing is added. Right now, the park hours list a 9pm close, evening EMH, and only one F!, but I'm hoping for an hour and a second show added to that.
When we get hungry we'll pop over to Kimonos for dinner. Sushi two nights in a row is dream vacation territory for me!

I've been dying to try it, but between having a dining plan and the fact that DH is allergic to fish we've just never gotten over there.

A day with almost no plan!
Unless we find freakishly short wait times during Studios EMH we'll probably start the day right back there, just for a couple hours to ride Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror, and Rock & Roller Coaster. Studios is my least favorite park and I don't plan on staying long, but I would like to hit the highlights. On our last trip I popped over there solo at rope drop and was able to ride both thrillers, do a little shopping, and be back on a bus to Pop by 9:30, so I'm hoping to be done by 10:30 or so even with the kids along. My mom doesn't ride anything more extreme than the Tea Cups, so she and Boo will join us for Toy Story Mania and then head to Starring Rolls for some goodies while Pocahontas & I hit the scary stuff.
After Studios, we'll most likely boat over to Epcot. Pocahontas discovered a candy in the Mitsukoshi store that she just loved, and since she's a summer birthday her day to bring in a treat will be in June so she wants to pick up enough for her whole class. We'll take our time exploring Epcot for the rest of the morning and early afternoon.
For a late lunch, I booked the Garden View Tea. This is something we've talked about doing for years but never seem to fit in on our dining plan trips, so this seems like the perfect time to try it! Not having the boys along is nice too, because I don't think either DH or DS14 would be all that impressed by high tea.
After tea I really have no idea where we'll end up. The Magic Kingdom is open until 10pm and Epcot has evening EMH until midnight, so we'll just hit whichever we feel like. Epcot is probably the more likely of the two only because this would be the one night that we could catch Illuminations, but we're taking the Kingdom Keepers Quest packet that Pocahontas got on our January trip so she might want the extra MK time to do the scavenger hunt instead.

Departure day.

On paper this trip just seems so short, but I'm sure the girls will be ready to get home. Our last girls only trip was a night too long, and by the 5th day they were really missing DH. They're both total daddy's girls and aren't used to being away from him for more than a night or two.

I'm sure I'll be missing him too; this will only be the 2nd time in 13+ years that we've been apart for longer than a weekend and even though I love the one-on-one (or two) trips with my kids I don't sleep well without him. I've found that's an upside to traveling without him - happy to be heading home distracts from being sad to leave Disney.
Our flight is at 3, so we won't have time to do much other than swim in the morning before our Magical Express pick up. That's fine by me; I never make plans for our departure days, even with a later flight, because it just feels like we spend the day rushing and watching the clock. So we'll soak up some sun, shower, and head off to the airport to come back to reality.
