You heard me. A private donor financed the $25,000 project to erect a statue of Detroit's "famed" futuristic crimefighter...ROBOCOP. This makes me smile. Eat your heart out Philadelphia with your puny Rocky statue!

Ohhh don't get me started about THAT waste of tax payer dollars (probably had something to do with ol' Killpatrick's money shenanigans )...

What exactly were they thinking when they made that? (besides the obvious money laundering reason).. It is over a stupid overpass, NOT a river or something like that. To me , it looks like a kids Hotwheels track...

Well, Philly has it's Rocky statue, there's a Superman statue in Metropolis, IL, a giant robot statue (Gundam) in Tokyo, and a Ralph Kramden at the entrance of Port Authority in NYC.

Robocop was a good guy! Defender of the peace and a symbol of the future. I might be tempted to take a trip to Detroit just to see it.

I bet near Comerica Park/Ford Field or Campus Martius. I can't picture it "fitting in" down in Hart Plaza or anywhere else.

I love the Robocop idea and I'd make a special trip downtown to see it with my girls.

The Big Blue Blunder, on the other hand, scares the bejeebers out of me! I seriously have a little anxiety attack when I'm passing through there ~ ick!!

The giant tire is special to me because when I was 4 (many moons ago, LOL!), I had to make trip after trip out to Henry Ford Hospital due to a bone condition and seeing that tire was the only thing that I looked forward to when we'd go. I still love to see it to this day!
