Found one in the back of a cupboard and wonder if anyone has any insight into whether I would be allowed to use it on upcoming trip. It is for ASSports which is where we happen to be staying this time.

All the new cups and machines work off RFID, so my guess would be no. I would still take it and ask, curious on what they would say.

You would not be allowed to use it. My Aunt brought hers back and was told that the forever mug program was replaced by the RFID program.

I guess nothing is forever.

I probably would have had to appeal that to a manager. The "RFID program" is no excuse. Just another way of saying they changed their minds. If they said forever, they need to find a way to honor it.

Which mugs are "Forever" mugs? We have one of the old style (they were shorter and fatter) that's from "Dixie Landings". I wonder if that would work. Honestly, I do remember mugs that I think were supposed to be good forever, not sure, but it would be interesting to see.

I agree. You can't say forever and then be like I didn't mean fooooreeever. Lol. I just don't know how they would know but I never had a mug until 2014 so RFID by then. It's like if you find a non expiring ticket, even though you can't buy that now, they still have to honor what they sold then.

She did. And the manager brought out the original poster displayed by the Forever Mugs. The fine print said something to the effect of "bearer entitled to free refills of the Forever Mugs for the entirety of the Forever Mug program".

Very interesting. I guess this finally proves that there was a mug for life program, in spite of repeated denials by some that they was no such program, or that they never saw any signage to that effect.
