I just noticed on the HRH that you were required to purchase a roll away for 5 guests. I am wondering if they really enforce this? As a family of 5 we would have no need for a roll away in a delux room.

Never heard of that rule before. Lots of people bring air mattresses and in a deluxe room you don't need it. Where did you read or hear that?

We are a family of 5 and we had deluxe at hrh last year.I suggest your bring a air mattress, that sofa bed is horriable.Had to pile pillows and covers on top of it so my daughter could sleep on it.Worn out bad.The room is huge so you would have plenty of room for a air mattress.

Damo if you look under the room details on the HRH website down at the bottom in small print it says *5th guest roll away required. I have been there twice with the same 5 ppl never required a roll away. I don't recall ever seeing that on the websiste before.

Well I have poked all over the site and can't find where is says a roll away is needed and I just booked the RPR (i know your hard rock) and nothing was on that reservation (we too are a fam of 5)

When you go to finalize is the rollaway fee added to your total?

imo that's their way to let you know there are only beds for 4....

I suppose the only sure way of knowing is to call them and ask.

Can you link to this? I don't see it here. http://www.loewshotels.com/en/Hotels/Hard-Rock-Hotel/Rooms/GuestRooms.aspx

If I go to www.hardrockhotelorlando.com I see this *Maximum occupancies may require a rollaway at $25 per day

The "may" part means to me that it isn't required by the hotel but may be required by the visitor if they need another bed and haven't provided one for themself.

I wouldn't go by the hardrockhotelorlando website but would follow the loews site.

ok this is not looking like it will link, what it says is

Deluxe Double Queen Rooms - up to 5 guests* (rollaway rental needed for 5th person)

* Maximum occupancies may require a rollaway at $25 per day. Only one rollaway is allowed per room. King Rooms have bedding for 2, requires rollaway for 3. Double Queen have bedding for 4, requires rollaway for 5. Available on a first come first serve basis. Additional charges apply for more than 2 adults guests per room

I get to this by going to www.universalorlando.com then click on hotels at top of page, then choose hard rock then, accommodations, then Delux, Club level rooms.
The above I cut and pasted directly from site.
Damo I thought HRH wasn't part of Lowes?? Wonder why you still access it from Lowes site?

TIA
Marci

Ok I got that link to work scroll all the way down it is at the bottom of the page. However now that I reread it looks like they may require it for just reg queen rooms not the delux queens. What I am worried about though is that I want to be on club level, I have the room #'s to request for delux, however our thoughts are that if we cannot get a delux on club level we will prob try to just go for nonclub.

You still book the hotel through the Loews booking site. Since that site that you quoted also says "may require", I don't think that is the same as "requires". I don't think it is a forced rollaway otherwise it would say "maximum occupancies require a rollaway". It doesn't say that. To me those are two completely different statements. I don't think the policy has changed. Also because it says, first come first served, implies that there are not enough rollaways for all rooms.

If you call, let us know what they say, but I agree with Damo (even though our opinions don't mean anything really lol) and that you dont have to get the roll away, but they want to make sure you understand there is only beds for 4...

I agree. If you really are concerned, give them a call.

How old are the members of your party of 5?

They might require a roll away depending on how many "adults" there are...

I poked around further, and saw the same thing on the RPR site, and I can tell you my family of 5 with kids aged 10, 8, and 6 were not asked to pay or use a roll away and we brought an air mattress.

YMMV

Thank you all for your input. I think you are right and they won't push a roll away. Kids are 11, 8 and 6. Now all I have to worry about is praying that the Universal tic prices don't go up before I can buy them. I have to pay Disney bal in full by Dec 4th then hoping to book HRH the same day. Also hoping to buy Annual passes by Christmas. Thank you guys so much everyone has been so helpful!

if you haven't booked hrh yet for this december, do it now.
you will only pay a one night deposit

check the website.
i saw some of the prices have dropped

Just to confuse/clarify further. The room rate is based on 2 adults. Each adult beyond 2 is a MANDATORY additional $25. The additional $25 is not charged for an additional child. So, a party of 5 w/ 2 adults and 3 children is say $250. A party of 5 with 3 adults and 2 children would be $275. A party of 4, with 4 adults would be $300.

Renting the roll-away is OPTIONAL and an additional $25 (whether it's for an adult or child).

So, my party of 5 (3 adults, 2 children) with roll-away is $50 more than your party of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) with air mattress.:sad1:
