Here now and I don't know if I should try this ride.

I don't like rollercoasters, I don't like going fast, I don't like going upside down, I don't like the falling feeling in my stomach. I don't like feeling like I'm going to fall out of the ride.

Motion simulators are fine, I close my eyes if it's too much. Fine with Soarin, Indiana Jones in Cali was a little rough for me. Didn't love the drop in Splash Mountain, wouldn't do it again.

I know this ride tips you back, but does it tip you forward and sideways too? Do you feel like you're going to fall out?

None of the things you don’t like apply to FJ

FJ doesn’t do any of the things you don’t like. You do not feel like you might fall out. Try it.

No feeling of falling out but you are moved in every direction. leaning forward, leaning backwards, swings to side. But it is not fast.

Try it once. That’s what I did. No other rides bother me except that I always think my glasses will fall off on Rip Ride Rocket. Forbidden journey gave me a weird sensation that I didn’t enjoy, so I have not done it again. I didn’t get sick, just didn’t like it. Everyone else in my family enjoys it.

I pretty much a ride coward and I could handle it, but it's my absolute limit. If you are concerned, maybe try it once at the end of the day, so if you aren't feeling well you can go back to the hotel and recover.

Forbidden Journey and Mission Space Orange are the only two rides I honestly ever thought I might vomit while riding. Never, ever again.

have you done or are you willing to do HAgrids? I feel like FJ is also my limit. I’m certainly NOT willing to get on velocicoaster!

My 7 year old rode it when she was 6 and wanted to get right back on so we did. It's very smooth and all the different scenes make it more of an adventure than a ride. Give it a shot, you may be surprised!

I am not willing to do Hagrids, but that's just me. If a friend wants to ride it the next time we go, I won't stop her. She can ride and I'll wait outside holding her stuff.

thanks I’m honestly on the fence. I happily hold everyone’s stuff while they ride stuff I’m unwilling to try. I just don’t know about Hagrids . I guess I’ll make the call when we’re down there

Are you a Harry Potter fan? Forbidden Journey has an amazing line that takes you through Hogwarts. If you want to skip the ride, I would highly recommend going through the full line, and then when you get to the front (which is right before the lockers) tell them you do not want to ride and they will direct you away from the ride.

Have you ever ridden Star Tours ad WDW? I felt like it was around that level of motion. Acceleration and movement and a little jerkiness at times, but you never feel like you are going to fall out.

FJ is not scary (for an adult) the problem is with motion sickness. Or maybe if you happen to have a spider phobia.

The motion can really make you sick if you have any problems with motion rides.

This was going to be my response as well. It's not a scary ride in the slightest (it's my 6 year old's favorite ride) but it does jerk you around in all directions. If you get motion sickness easily, it's probably one that I would avoid.

Basically, for this you sit in a full backed chair, feet dangling, with a full, tight fitting over-the-shoulder restraint, that pretty much keeps you snug in the seat and won't give any sensation of "falling out".

All this said, the ride does move, fairly rapidly at times, up, down, left and right, along with some front and backwards swing to it. It can be pretty quick, but it never "free-falls" or anything. You will always be upright, so don't worry about inversion or anything like that. I really don't think the actual physical movement is too bad.

However, the ride will use visual effects, light, sound, and blowing air, to simulate the effect of you flying at great speeds (much more than you are actually physically moving in you ride vehicle).

For me, the ride is really a lot like soaring, just with a ride car thats is always in motion, taking you to different scenes vs. being mostly stationary in front of a single screen.

For me, I'd gage riding this on how well you can handle simulators. if you can handle them well, you should be fine.

I’ve never seen my husband get motion sick on anything and he broke out in a cold sweat and ended up leaving US early because of this ride. I also saw a lady get off the ride, literally fall sideways, and vomit. Personally I didn’t think it was that bad. I get nauseous on things like swings at the playground but not rides. The only thing that gets me at Universal with the rides that use screens like forbidden journey or transformers, etc. is that the screens themselves kind of make me sick. But I am the kind of person who is bothered at an IMAX theater. I do close my eyes a couple of times during forbidden journey but I have ridden it three times now without getting sick.
