Hi there,

My dd is 7 and really enjoyed the first two harry potter movies so far. She really wants to go on forbidden journey, but I wonder if it will be too much for her.

She doesn't have fear of seeing things, like she quite enjoyed dinosaur. But does have fear of big drops or roller coasters with inversions.

Would you take your 7 year old on it?

Also I hear a lot of talk of motion sickness, did this affect any children anyone knows? DD7 can go on spinny rides, etc and has never complained of any motion sickness, but I wouldn't want to ruin our day!

There are no drops or inversions as FJ is not a roller coaster. You are on the end of a big robotic arm that swings around smoothly in all sorts of positions, the "worst" of which is on your back once or twice. My concern with my DD7 is the scary elements in the dark-ride elements, but since yours enjoys Dinosaur she will probably be fine. I've not heard of kids specifically getting sick, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

if she meets the height requirement, take her.

if it turns out the ride doesn't suit her, she at least has bragging rights to her friends she did it...

My son was 6.5 when we first went to universal, and the thought of the things in the ride worried him too much to go on it. Namely the big spiders and the dementors being so close to him.

He's 7 now, and says he wants to ride it in September. He has seen through movie #3. I'm not sure which is better...to have seen that movie and KNOW what Dementors are like, etc, or to go in without the knowledge. :)

You can show him pictures of the ride dementors. They are just like the ones in the last movies and really don't seem as scary as when they were just showing them as black cloaked faceless figures.

My 6 year old enjoys riding FJ. He really enjoys thrill rides though and doesn't suffer from motion sickness of any kind.

What we have done to prepare ds 8.5 for USO is watch the Harry Potter movies including the newest release in the theatre and then went to you tube. You can watch many videos of the rides at USO/IOA to get an idea of what to expect. Dont go there if you dont want spoilers though lol. Our favorite one on you tube is coaster force. Great quality videos.:thumbsup2
