We were there about 3 months ago. 7am opening for onsite guests so had some wait for locker, but nothing like the madness I anticipate next week.

Anyhow, someone asked if you may still access the lockers near Filch's . Where and how does one do that? Are you able to do that?

You're not supposed to- the line for the lockers begins outside of the castle where the gates are. Going in through Filch's is only for retrieving items.

That wasn't true when we were there in May. We were directed into the lockers (via the store) before getting on line.

Sounds like the access is still not controlled. In that case, the back of Filch's allows access into the locker area. It's a much simpler way to stow your things in the locker.

Even though the locker area is accessible via Filch's....

If the line for FJ extends outside (in other words, if you are SUPPOSED to wait in line for a while before being directed to the lockers to stow your bags), then going through Filch's is effectively cutting in line.... not cool. :(

I suppose, however, if the line starts inside the castle, and you're just preferring to access the lockers via Filch's instead of the main entrance, then it's just a personal preference thing. ???

If you start out by going to Filch's first, you still have to go back out to the end of the line, as far as I can figure. So it's still pretty much the same amount of time spent in line, is it not?

Is there a separate line for "no locker needed"?

This is another reason that it seems like this was not thought through very well - which is very much a surprise, given the rest of the design.
