Here is Massachusetts (as with much of New England) we get off the third week of April every year for school vacation. Aagh - just noticed this is going to be Premier Week for points next year.

Can you imagine airfare next year! :earseek: My piddly 150 points will be no match for those 43/point weekend nights. Oh the crowds with all of us, plus the rest of the Easter crowds :crowded: - I am having an "oh woe is me" moment.

Anyone care to join me? :faint:

Yikes, that is nuts.
I am lucky though, I don't have to go on school vacation week. But this year I am, I atually chose to. I thought it would be different, never been in the spring before. But won't next year, with points like that!

I would never go Easter week, i'm nervous enough about the crowds coming up for our break April 16-24! I'm hoping they won't be unbearable then.

Hey there Momoftwins!
If you want to cheer up you can read the posts over on the parks board about the crazy crowds that are there this week- and then you probably won't feel as bad! :earseek:
I think that those of us in the frozen north deserve a warm break by Easter each year-but it stinks that you have to pay twice as much to go during the time we need the break most. :sad2:
I swore I would never go on Easter week again after doing it one year. I came back from the parks with a headache every night because it took so much concentration just to walk around in the crowd all day without walking into all of the little kids, or being run over by strollers and scooters! :earsgirl:

We were there one Easter week (April vacation--DH is a high school teacher), and yes it was crowded. Not as bad as Christmas week, and I'll always remember Tigger pushing DD in her wheelchair (broken leg from skiing) at the egg hunt at FW. But will I do it again next April? Nooooo.

Haven't decided about President's week yet.

Yep, us too! Our school just approved the calendar for next year and we get the 3rd week of April which is Easter as well. We will stick to Presidents Week! This year it was sunny and 80's!!

This year my spring break was during this premier season, we went on a cruise and had a ball!

We booked a cruise for next year...saving the points for the following year.

This is why we are going in April of 2007!

Yep, we also try to avoid Premier season whenever possible. I make extensive use of CaskBill's DVC planner, to make the best use of points, and to know how many we have and when we are using them. But using this program, it becomes clear when Easter is going to fall in the next few years, and given that it is coinciding with Patriots' Day in 2006, we decided to stay home for that (going this year tho) and do Presidents' Day vacation week '06.

In fact, we just made airline ressies for February '06, at least for the outbound portion (need to wait until later this week for the return). Of course we have already made our DVC ressies for then too, just so we have them: VB over Presidents' Day weekend, then once the crowds die down a little at WDW, back to BWV on the Tuesday for the rest of the week. But Patriots' Day is gonna be at home next year.

But get CaskBill's planner, and you'll have more advance warning in future.

Yup--
We are going next February for the same reason...
Went last President's Week (04), and it was chilly and crowded, but no way can I afford premier points AND crowds...
Pumpkinboy, looks like we have been following each other's vacation plans for the past few years-- you must be that guy in the Red Sox hat!

You guys are lucky. The Spring break for our public schools here (fairfax county, Virginia) is always the week before Easter Sunday. We do not have any breaks in the fall. We went to WDW for spring break 2004. It took lots of planning to do the parks. This year we used the teacher's working day in January for a 3 day cruise and 2 day parks. The parks are so much nicer when we can actually walk around without holding the kids' hands. But 5 days is not a week, even my 6 year old did the Math. Oh well, we will have to cope with it for the 11 more years. :sad2:

That is why I am buying into DVC and planning for more long weekends. :flower:
