I won an auction on Saturday and immediately emailed a request for an invoice as the shipping and handling was variable. I've waited and waited and have not heard anything from the seller. I'm new to Ebay. This is only my 5th purchase ever and all the others were like clockwork.

My question - how long do I wait before sending another message? I know yesterday was Easter Sunday so I made allowances for that. I'm really anxious to get this particular item but I don't want to be rude. I honestly don't know how long I should wait before trying to contact the seller again. I also don't want the seller to think that I'm not paying promptly. I have the date/time stamp on the request for invoice and it shows that it was sent less than 5 minutes after I won the auction. I'm ready to pay as soon as I get the invoice. I just need to know how much!

Any advice is appreciated. TIA!

I'm both a buyer and a seller. I'd give them at least 3 days. My guess is that many sellers do this on the side and yours may have had to go back to work today. Plus, if they were selling multiple items, not everyone can be first.

Certainly by Wednesday contact them again if you've heard nothing. It may just have been an oversight.

OK. :guilty: Thanks for your input.

I'm just so darn excited to get this item that it is incredibly hard for me to be patient and wait. At least you've given me a deadline to shoot for.

I'm getting bummed because there were a couple of people selling the same thing and I apparantly bid and won the item from the "slow" seller instead of the one with super-fast contact.

If I don't hear from her by Wednesday, how long do I have to wait before I can be upset? I really am struggling for perspective here since I am so anxious to get this item. I appreciate your assistance because I really am trying to be fair before getting grouchy. :goodvibes

Don't get upset. What is the sellers feedback number and rating? If they have a good strong feedback number and rating, I wouldn't worry about it.

Remember it was a holiday weekend and on top of that, spring break for some. Many sellers work a day job and they may not be able to respond until the evenings or they may be returning from spring break.

I would wait a couple more days before contacting them again.

She does have good feedback so I will just try to be patient. I'm just goofy and am particularly anxious for this item. I totally would have bought it in a store here but NO ONE has it (and I've looked!)

isn't there a pay now button on the ending screen?

The shipping is variable depending on insurance and stuff. The auction specifically said not to post until receiving an invoice. I like to initiate communication with sellers ASAP after winning an auction so they know I am ready to pay. I guess I am just a little more anxious on my end than she is on hers. I'll be good.

I was looking on Ebay this weekend for something and saw that a seller said the same thing-wait to pay as she will invoice you. This one I saw also said that she would be on vacation for a few days and to wait. Could be the same thing with your Ebayer. But I would wait until Wednesday probably but no later.

I know as a seller I've had auctions end while I'm away d/t getting called into work or I make plans to be scrapbooking with friends. My Dh can handle answeringh questions etc but I refuse to let him to invoices if more than 1 item.

I've gotten all knotted up inside a few times waiting for a final cost total. Many of the sellers use Paypal and must apparently think all transactions are taken care of when auction ends. Nope...I send a cashier's check (when it's accepted) and need the final total and an address for mailing payment. Guess there are so few of us doing it this way, they forget to check back frequently. :confused3
