And yes, I have worn a bra before....on my head! :woohoo: party:
I had a feeling you'd show up, sooner or later, and I wondered if you'd be qualified in one way or another to post here!! :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the info so far guys. Seems like just about everyone who did it was happy they did with the exception of maybe luvmydogs! :goodvibes

Oh, and Briarmom, about the whole gravity thing.....too late! :teeth:

DD had a girl at Nordstroms do a fitting for her after Oprah's bra show. The girl told her basically the same thing. ::yes:: She also said that most women's cup size is too small. She also told us that many of us "fuller figure girls" (and NOT so fuller figure girls - you may not believe your cup size if you are measured correctly!!!) are measured too small at VS since they only go up to a 40DD and they would like to fit us into what they sell.

AMEN...

As the proud wearer of a Very large cup size, it's a real PITA to find bra's that fit. Outside of paying for custom bra's I go to Dillards. They carry ones that "almost" fit. Granted the RIGHT fit is best but I doubt, outside of a true corset, I'll never find a bra that will lay against my breast bone.

And please, when you read fitting guide lines, there's NO reason to add 5" to your band size, that just causes your band to ride up.

I could of sworn a few years ago the rule was to add 2" to an even measurement and 3" to an odd measurement for band size now most places say add 4" for even and 5" for odd. Or am I going mad??

Claire ;)

Nope...and I never plan to!

Those ladies scare me!!! And I don't want to expose my stretchmarks to the rest of the world.

But, I have no problems. I have easy to fit ****ies.

I understand completely. Thanks kids!
But, you don't want them to go even FURTHER south! You want to keep them as northernly as possible. :teeth:

I have been thinking about this for a long time (actually, since Oprah's show!!) I still keep trying to fit myself, trying different sizes, and nothing is working. Now that I'm pregnant, it's even worse!!!

I'm trying to get up the courage to go in to Nordstroms to get it done. I just have a thing about exposing "the girls" to total strangers to critique, because I might not like what they have to say. Not only that, but if they can distinguish them from all the flab on my body right now, it'd be a miracle.

I wouldn't say they critique...more like they are there to get you to look your best and know which bras/what sizes will help you do that. It was more like having a friend or mother help than anything else, at least in my experience.

I have been thinking about getting it done. I got a gift card for Lane Bryant and wanted to use it for bras, they have really nice ones. I'm hoping they do fittings.

And yes, I have worn a bra before....on my head!

Did you get a proper fitting for that Hercules?

"I'm a 34A, I'm a 34A! Stop making me say it out loud!!!" She measured me anyway and said, "Yep. You're an A cup, alright." :magnify:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have never done this. I know I don't wear the proper size. I'm too afraid of the real size, I don't want to hear it. My bra doesn't annoy me and if it does maybe I'll get measured.

I had one and love having the right size. It is so comfy now. I don't like VS bras.

I get fitted every year or so, whenever I'm replacing bras. Time + pregnancy + gravity + nursing= the everchanging landscape of my bust. Having the right style and size makes a real difference in how I look, as well as in comfort.

There is a particular German lady at the department store that I like to go to, because she does such a good job, and she makes the shopping part very easy. She is, however, very blunt. At my last fitting, she said, "Ah, you must now wear the Calvin Klein. All of your volume has settled." :rotfl:
