? for Vet people

(We tried calling our vet, but he had surgery so isn't taking emergency calls). Before we try to call another vet, I thought I would come on here...

My mom's dog hasn't felt well the last couple of days (she is a littler dog - 16 lbs?). Today she hasn't felt the greatest, but she is eating/drinking/and barking at the squirrels . Today she notices a big swollen bump on the right side of her neck. She has noticed in the last couple of hours it has gotten bigger than it was this am. (She just noticed the bump this morning, so she doesn't think it has been there for long).

Is this something to be concerned about? Any ideas?

That is something to be concerned about. If she did not seen it before and it is getting bigger as the day goes than the dog needs to go in.

I agree! Good that the dog is eating, drinking, etc. but it needs to go to a vet tomorrow.

She called the ER vet in town and they told her it sounded like possibly an allergic reaction so she gave her the dosage for Benadryl. She gave it to her and she said that the bump is almost all down (3/4 of the way gone). Thank you for your advice!
