What are the dates of your school's fall break?

Ours is OCT 9, 12, 13

IF we go to WDW, I'm trying to figure out if we would be better off (crowd-wise) by adding a day or two BEFORE OCT 9th, or AFTER OCT 13...

Our fall break is Oct 5 thru 9 in Northern Alabama.
I hope to go for fall break in 2010 if I can convince DH!

Our Fall Break is Oct 12th - 16th, in Central Alabama, and my sisters children are out the same week in another part of Alabama. That is also Columbus Day Week, and Disney is bound to be busy. :sad2: We are normally out the week before so I was slightly disappointed.

We don't have a fall break here. However, schools are closed for Columbus day and Yom Kippur. If they fall in the same week, (2-3 days out depending on when YK starts), many NYC folks may decide to head down to WDW.

I'm one of those waiting to see what our October schedule will look like.:surfweb:

It is Canadian Thanksgiving that weekend and Columbus Day so I think that weekend will be busy no matter what.
I know that we like to leave a day or two earlier so that we can fly home on the Sunday instead of the Monday when the airports are crazy busy!

Fall break here in middle Tennessee is October 3-18.
We are taking our DN 21 to WDW in June for her first trip. I am very skeptical that I will be able to convince DW to go again this October, but I would love to.

We're homeschoolers, but the city schools here have break Oct. 5 - 9 and the county schools have break Oct. 15, 16 & 19. We're in NE Georgia.

For our kids school next year they are shortening it from a week to just a long weekend so it'll be Thursday-Sunday. October 15, 16, 17, 18 and dh and I are going back to Disney for food & wine without the kiddos. :) So I'm really looking forward to their fall break! We are in E. TN.

We used to go in October every year until the kids started school and I think it's the slowest time of year, so I think you'll be safe. I wish we had a fall break!

Our Fall Break is October 5th through 12th as well as all the areas around us now. Actually I think the majority of the state or at least the Western part of Kentucky has the same dates. Many from here are already planning on heading to Disney since there are so many military families and it is a great deal.

Most Arizona schools have a week of fall break -- this year it's the week of Oct. 12. But most people here go to Disneyland over fall break, so I don't think it would affect the crowds in FL much.

ugh...it sounds like the fall break is all over the place in that 2-3 week period. i wonder if it's going to be as busy as President's Day.

i'm trying to talk dh into to going back, but so far i haven't managed to convince him. i'm hoping for some :wizard: he got sick and missed 2 days of our last trip, and was sick for an entire week when we got home - so it was not a pleasant trip for him. plus, the kids were sick for part of the vacation as well.

maybe he'll agree in a few weeks, when more time has passed since our last trip (mardi gras week).

Central Indiana: Fall break is Thur/Fri Oct. 22-23. We'll be at Disney!!!!!

We've been going in October for 20 years - and it used to be slow. But its been "discovered" (along with much of the rest of the year). Its still better than Spring Break or Easter or Christmas, but it isn't slow by any means and hasn't been for about ten years now. Between the Halloween party and Food and Wine and the very nice weather and the fall breaks schools have, its a busy time of year at WDW - and seems to get busier every year.

September and January are still pretty slow.

I'm in Middle Tennessee, just outside Nashville. Our fall break is October 5th - 9th so we're headed to WDW that week, 10/4 - 10/10.

And, because Halloween is my favorite holiday, we'll be attending MNSSHP, too!!! I'm so excited!!! :yay:

We have been down in October the last two years. 3rd week in 2007, 2nd week in 2008. It has been PACKED both times. We go in June a lot, and October crowds were not that different....trust me. It is a very busy time to go, but then again there are very few slow times in Disney anymore.

We do not have fall breaks here in the North East (at least most schools don't). I guess because we need to save room for snow days in the winter. However, October is my favorite time to go to Disney. Even though it is busy, the parks are still manageagle. We loved MNSSHP and the F&W festival. The fall decor is great. And, the weather is just fantastic this time of year, barring any hurricanes. We love October in Disney!
