A couple of questions for those of you with a daughter that loves princess dresses...

1. How many dresses do you pack for a trip?
2. Does she wear the dress for the whole day, or do you pack extra clothes?
3. What kind of bag do you carry in the park?

I am trying to avoid carrying much into the parks...hopefully just a small sling/messenger bag for cell phones, sunscreen, bottled water, and maybe a gallon ziplock bag with a change of clothes.

I have 2 little princesses. Others are different, but we only do princess dresses one day of our trip so we either bring a dress from home or get one at BBB. I let my girls decide how long they want to wear the dress. We usually end up changing half way through the day depending on the dress.

My youngest is still little and requires a diaper bag and a stroller so I generally bring in a large backpack. I always bring extra clothes for each kid. I actually bring an extra outfit every day in case they get dirty (we have had various Mickey Bar incidents) or wet (my oldest hasn't met many water areas she didn't like).

I'm going to bring one 'real' princess dress and some 'fake' princess dresses. The real one will be one I got from the Disney store and the fake ones are going to be dresses with tutus attached, example: http://www.costco.com/Frozen-Girls'-Dress-Blue.product.100151463.html

She will only wear the real one if she wants to and only when we're doing a half day in Magic Kingdom so that she's not overwhelmed by it (despite whether she's hot, itchy, or tired she'll refuse to take it off unless bribed).

We are only bringing 1 real dress and we will wear it the evening we have dinner at 1900. Brother will be in his Prince Charming outfit. During the days we have other disney inspired shirts and dresses to wear, more comfy in my opinion. I also bring a change of clothes for each of them each day because of splash areas and ice cream.

We still use a stroller and our last trip we used a diaper bag to carry a change of clothes for all and one dress for the princess. Depending on which Disney princesses we would see that day would determine which dress we brought. We would put it on her over her clothes right before the meet and greet and/or character meal and take it off shortly after. Occasionally, she would want to wear it longer, so we let her as long as it wasn't getting messed up. I think we packed all but one of her dresses/costumes last time. One time we forgot to put it on before the meet and greet, but no big deal. I tried to coordinate her shirt color with her dress color in case it showed, but I didn't always.

Sadly, my little princesses are moving beyond their princess phases  but...when it was in full swing, I would only bring one princess dress per girl. If we were doing BBB, it would be whatever dresses we were using for that. My girls were big on wearing their dresses all day, but we usually took an afternoon break and I'd have them change into other clothes before dinner. I always carried my backpack and would use it as backup storage for anything they didn't want to keep on...like crowns.

It really depends on your DD. When my DD was little, she wore them all day every day at WDW. She did not want to take them off. They get lots of attention in those dresses from CMs and even other guests, and DD wasn't about to give that up. Other kids may wear them for an hour and then want them off. There really is no way to know until you get there. We would usually take a couple from home, and buy one there. They take up a lot of suitcase space. I would say take a change of clothes the first time she wears one in the park even if she says she is going to wear it all day, or you might find yourself buying a change of clothes. I just took a change of clothes in a ziplock bag. If she changed out of the dress, I would just ask for a shopping bag from one of the stores and carry it in that. The CMs are very nice about giving you one if you need it for something.

We only took one dress to wear after BBB appointment. We went in June and it was too hot to wear the material in the princess dresses every day. I guess it depends on the child.

We brought a flower girl dress from a friend's wedding and she wore it every day, all day. It wasn't the plan but she loved it! And what else was I supposed to do with the dress?

DD loves to dress up in the parks. I bought 2gal ziploc bags. I packed her dresses into these and got all the air out to pack in the suitcase. Once in the hotel room I hung all the dresses. She would wear them to the park and tended to stay in them most of the day. I did pack a change of regular clothes to take to the park in a ziploc bag. When she wanted to change she let me know. I'd pack the dress back into the ziploc and tried to get as much air out as I could to reduce space. We still use a double stroller so the change of clothes/dress was stored in the basket under the stroller.

In 2014 we bought an Elsa dress while there, and she was allowed to wear it to "special" dinners - CRT, BOG. We always went back to the hotel for a break, and it was August, so I didn't want her to get overheated so we only did the dress for post-break and dinner. When we went in May 2015, DH bought her an Anna dress while I wasn't around (he had her for 2 days while I was at a conference) and he let her wear the dress to every dinner. Our daughter is almost 4 and is very good with delayed gratification; we tell her that the dress gets in the way on many of the rides, and gets too hot during the day, so we've managed to limit it to dinner ADRs and/or princess meet and greets. I've just gone lowbrow and used a large clear plastic bag and stuffed it in there with water, ponchos, snacks. If we are going to be in the park for a while, I pack the bag and have her wear regular clothes; if it's just a dinner ADR and a *few* rides I let her just wear the dress and don't pack other clothes to change into. We try to travel as light as possible, though.

We had 2 costume days on our spring trip. We had costumes that were a little more comfy (and easy to put in a small backpack). They both went as Pocahontas to Animal Kingdom. That was a really sweet character visit.
The last day we had Akershus breakfast and one went as the Aurora from the Maleficent movie and the other one went as Alice in Wonderland. I let them each pick out a costume from Ebay.

They wore their clothes underneath, so when they were ready to take them off it was no big deal.

For the other days, I had tiaras and minnie ears. I got these on ebay as well. It was nice because they were headbands and I could fit them in my purse or wear them myself =)

I have 2 princesses. Last year I brought 2 princesses dresses each. I let them decide when and where they wanted to wear the dresses. They loved the attention they got so they ended up wearing them most of the trip! I always brought along extra clothes in case and we had a large backpack we kept in the underneath part of the stroller. Funny though, the last day they had their BBB appts as well as the Anna & Elsa fastpasses - as soon as that was over they wanted to change!
