HI ! I just wanted to " throw this out there" and see if anyone can help!

Long story but...we are looking forward to dining at Raglan Road next week. We have 7:00 adr's . We are a family of 5 with children ages 5, 9 and 9. This is a must do for us this trip ( which is only 3 nights ) due to the fact we were supposed to actually be vacationing in Ireland for my hubbies 40th but couldn't go due to his father being ill...long story.

Anyway...this past weekend my mother and her husband decide they are coming with us to WDW. So now we are a party of 7. I could not add them to my ADR but was able to secure a party of 7 at 9 pm.

My concern is that it is too late for the kids. I know they can stay up but I have read about a roudy "bar atmosphere" later in the evening. Aso I am concerned that if our ressie is for 9 maybe we won't actually be seated till much later ??

Any experience or advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

We were there in June with my DS (8yo) and it was around 9:30ish when we finished dinner, it was fine, he liked the music. I would just request a table away from the bar. It was getting a little loud by the bar. Of course our table was right next to the bar and the stage where the dancer is. It was a great table to watch the band and dancer. We loved Raglan Road. The food was great.

The only thing i can think of is that you could head to Downtown Disney early that evening and stop in to see about availability for 7, while holding onto your 9pm reservation in case they can't get you in. They may be able to. If not, there is plenty to do at Downtown Disney while you wait (though I know 9pm is super late for some kids to eat).

We were there well past 9pm when we went last and I would not call the environment rowdy - it was very very loud (the band), most of the people were having a beer and relaxing, but it wasn't a rowdy environment. At that time, very few were ordering food and we saw no children BUT the restaurant was still newly opened and they may be so popular now that people do wait to eat until later there... there are tables removed from the bar and dancing that you can dine at but then you miss the entertainment, you know?

I hope it works out for you!

I agree with a previous post. i would check with them earlier to see if they have any cancellations. We went in July & walked right up w/ no reserv. & got right in. Waited maybe 5 min. Great place to dine. We had cancelled reserv. at a buffet & was just roaming around downtown & came across Raglan Rd. What a pleasant surprise. The band starts at 8pm. The crowd was not loud. Just the music. But, it was enjoyable. :cheer2: Can't wait to go again in 2007.

What about trying to make a reservation for two people at/around the same time as your current ADR; if it works, when you check in at the restaurant see if you can be seated with/near each other.
