Hi there.
my DDs really really want to get their hair done with strings of beads in them .
Is there such a place around WDW to do this ??
and is it affordable ? I have heard outrageous prices for them !

thanks for any tips ..

There are places at each resort and probably DTD (but I'm not sure about DTD.)
They cost $1-2 per inch plus the cost of beads if I remember right. They also sell ones on an alligator clip that you can put in and take out and it will last forever.
Sorry I couldn't be more specific.... HTH

How long do these beads stay in the hair ??
and how would you wash your hair with them in it !!
I am such a noob on this .!

My DD had one put in at King's Island a couple of years ago. It was aroung 4thof July and we left it in until she started school at the end of August. We just washer her hair as normal, she swam with it, of course the colors on the floss faded from the chlorine, but she thought she was so cool with it. It was the only souvener she wanted. She had wanted it at DW the year before, but unfortunately her dad who was my H at that time wouldn't allow it. So at KI I let her get it as he was out of our lifes.:)

My DD had hers done right at ASM when we stayed there. We went in October, and the guy who did it said it'd last anywhere from a month to six weeks. Her hairstylist finally convinced her to cut it out in March. It lasted a very long time and cost us $25 dollars. She has shoulder-length hair. Well worth it. She still has the bottom part with the dolphin beads in a bag to keep in her Disney Memory Box.

We did the hair wrap with the beads at the end. I am not sure if this is what you are talking about. My daughter got them put in the end of Feb. they stayed in until after Easter ( early April). You wash hair just like normal the wrap and all. The colors stayed bright. The hair can breathe through the string, so it does not damage the hair. My daughter had shoulder length hair when she had the wrap. It cost @ $30-$35. I felt it was completely worth it. My daughter loved it and definetly got our moneys worth.

DD had this done to her hair by the pool at Pop Century. Just shampoo and rinse like you normally would-not really any different.

My DD had this done last year and it's all she talks about! She had it done at All-Star Movies I think. (or was it music?) Wasn't too much and was worth it.

My DDs had it done at Pop Century in December. Each was like $20 I think, we just did the string with a bead at the bottom, lots of bead will add up. They each had one done sort of behind one ear. That way if they wore a pony tail they could leave it hanging.

One lasted for like 2 months. The other fell out, just came out completely without being pulled or caught or anything in like 8 days. We were kind of suprised, the whole thing just came out, hair and all.

Hey Allyson, the same thing happened to us. We have had DD's hair wrapped twice, once on a Disney Cruise and then again at DTD. The one done on the cruise lasted about 6 weeks before I cut it out (just the threads) because it was unraveling and the other one fell out, hair and all, after about two weeks.

My daughter just got her hair braided in the cornrow style with beads at the Vero Beach resort and it was $35. I thought it looked pretty silly, but it really kept her hair out of her face at the pool and she loved it. We were told it would last about two weeks as long as didn't mess with it too much. I definitely would do that again over just a hair wrap, even though it was more expensive.

My DD gets this done twice a year. We are down in Florida twice a year and she has had it done in Disney, Sea World, and Vistana Resort.

They have lasted From 3 to 6 months. We have had no problems any of the times. I really think it depends on who does it how well and how long it will last.

Hi! We just returned from WDW and our daughter had her hair wrapped at DTD. The cost was $2 per inch and her hair is slightly longer than shoulder length. She chose to put her wrap at the very top of her head (I would have preferred it behind her ear) and the total cost was $42 with the beads and charm at the end. She had it done 2 years ago when we were there and it was all she talked about before we left for this trip. The first wrapping she had lasted about 3 weeks but she just couldn't leave it alone!

Oh, my DD's would love to do this! The 2 oldest had it done 2 years ago at Kings Island and they loved it! It would be much "cooler" to have it done in WDW!

Be careful and dont try what we did!!! When DD was ready to go back to school, I snipped it off at the roots, because she wanted to keep the whole thing. Big mistake!!! We lived with "The Sprig" as we called that little section of hair, for almost a year before it grew enough to mix in with her other hair!!! She had to use a bobby pin to keep it flat, or else it stuck up like Alfalfa.

My dd loves this. She has had it done by the pool each trip. We also leave it in for a couple months. It comes out when school starts. If I remember correctly, the total price was about $25 and her hair is about shoulder length.
