What do you do on the wild rides? You can't put hem in the locker and walk on barefoot but if you wear them wouldn't there be a pretty good chance of them flying off on rides such as DD? Also I am wondering the same for hats and glasses? Do I need to go buy one of those elastic things that hold DH's glasses on? And do you have to locker your hat and stand in line with the sun glaring down on you? DH was in a bad accident several years ago and due to a closed head injury he is very sensitive to light. If he takes off the hat and has the sun shining in his face he has an instant headache! TIA

Flip-flop person over here! DH and I live in our Reefs all vacation long :)

I don't do the coasters, but DH does, and he's able to keep his slaps on...somehow, LOL. He generally calls me at lunch, and I'll verify how he does this if someone else doesn't chime in before then. There must be a trick, because I always see a lone flip-flop that somebody lost on the bridge under the Hulk.

Sunglasses...I love my straps. Even non-coaster thrill rides and just going in and out of places, I love just taking them off and leaving them hang for a few. DH has prescription glasses and sunglasses, and he hates straps. He's forever changing them out of our backpack. I guess this one is just a personal preference.

Hats...we either sit on them on rides, wedge them somewhere between our body and the ride, or put them in our backpack and into a locker. Maybe your DH could use a softer type of hat that he can stuff/wedge into his pocket during the rides. My DH uses like a fishing hat, cotton, with a large rim all around so he doesn't burn on the back of his neck. I think he got it at the JP store, but I see this type worn a lot.

when i go on dueling dragons, the employees make you sit on your flip flops or any shoe that is not fastened like a walking shoe.

also told to put hats in your pocket or to sit on them.

glasses, sunglasses, was told to put them in your hand if no non riders in your group can hang on to them for you.

you will not be allowed on some of the coasters with shoes that can fly off.
you will be told to sit on them

Thanks for the info - I think I'll maybe get the strap that holds the glasses on your head for him and if DS wears flip flops I will sit on them for him (My behind is much bigger and heavier and I think they would be more secure! ) As for the hat - I'm not sure yet. He usually wears one of those big brimmed straw panama type hats. He really can't tolorate sunlight well and in alot of sun the baseball caps don't work nearly as well. I think the brim on those soft bucket hats is even worse. Guess we will most likely locker the big hat and be sure he has his wrap around sunglasses to go over his other glasses. :cool1:

When I've rode Dueling Dragons with Flip Flops, I put the safety strap through the flip flops and then snap it shut. This is more comfortable than trying to sit on them. I've seen several other people do this as well.

I sit on my slides on DD. I have to have a strap for my sunglasses because I lose them like crazy. I wear my sunglasses and turn my baseball cap around on the coasters and have never lost them. if you do choose to locker things up, all of the attractions that have lockers also have indoor queues, so don't worry about the sun.

Thanks Mr. McBean - good to know about the queues being indoor! I also like the strapping your flip flops in te safty strap idea MamaKate, sound way more comfy than sitty on DS's stinky shoes!
