If you are on WW and do WATP and calculate activity points, do you consider WATP (more specifically the 3 & 4 miles) light, moderate or high activity. I've been counting is as high and I'm not sure if that's right. Thanks!

I would be interested in hearing what other people do also. I've been counting it as moderate activity just to be on the safe side.

I count it as moderate, but I just started. When I did the 2 mile the other day, it felt like more than moderate, but not quite high. But the 2 mile was only 1 activity point and that seemed low.

I was originally counting them as moderate then switched to high. I think I'll start counting them as moderate again just to be safe. I guess I was a little confused b/c the definitions on the points booster stated that an example of moderate would be walking fast and high would be activities that make you sweat which the three mile does! :D I'll switch to moderate this week and see if that makes a difference.

I count WATP as moderate activity.

The book that comes with the new points booster defines "moderate" as activity you can talk during, but not sing, and you'll break a sweat after about 10 minutes. During "high" activity, you can talk only briefly, can't sing at all, and begin to sweat after 3-5 minutes.

(Probably a bad example. I can't sing standing still!)

Their examples of high intensity activity are running, competitive bicycling, and competitive swimming. I know I'm not pushing myself NEARLY that hard. Examples of moderate activity are brisk walking, brisk bicycling, and swimming slow laps. You're pushing your body, but not to an extreme.

Also, WW notes that members needing to lose 30 pounds or more should not exercise at a high intensity level without talking to their doctore or exercise specialist.

(No problem here- I couldn't do high intensity if you paid me!!!)

It sounds like most of us are probably at a moderate activity intensity level. High intensity sounds like athlete territory!

I think the points really depends on the person. When I walk on the treadmill at 3.5 it's high intensity for me as well as when I do the 3 mile watp tape I'm sweating pretty quickly and out of breath a lot. That is why I don't do the 3 mile tape or walk at 3.5 yet. However other people wouldn't think this is high intensity for them. Intensity level is very subjective and changes from person to person. If you can still carry on a conversation with someone consider it moderate if not it's high.

I count it as moderate, even when I use the weights. I know some people count it as 1 point per mile, but when you get into your 150's or so, it doesn't add up to 1 point per mile.

I usually count the 4 mile as 3 points and the 3 mile as 2 points.

I count my WATP as moderate, too. I compare it to my 60 min. Tae Bo advanced tape which leaves me drenched in sweat so I know that's high intensity for me.
