My husband, brother, and I are flying out to PA in a few weeks to visit my grandmother.

We will be flying from LAX to BWI.

The last time we rented a car, I used carrentals.com to get a pretty good deal, but I'm wondering, are there any other websites (hotwire, priceline, etc) that you use and know you're going to get a great rate?

we used expedia and got a 3 day rental for $9 a day with unlimited miles

I've heard great things about both Priceline and Hotwire. I usually use a code of some sort. I know that carrental.com is good too.

By best advice would be to check out the Transportation board here on the Dis. There's a good chance somebody over there will have some good ideas! :thumbsup2

Great Idea! Thank you!

I find that National w/ my Emerald Club membership gives me much better rates than I can ever find on priceline/hotwire etc. National allows you to stack the discounts.

If you google Emerald club memberships, sometimes you can find a code that allows you to join for free.

Mousesavers has great codes, and not just for Florida locations.

Really? Okay I'm gonna look into this! Thank you!

Do you belong to AAA ???

There are AAA rates.

Ugghh no! Everywhere I look, it seems that AAA has great deals! My SIL has AAA, but she will not be going with us...is there anyway to book under her name?

I would have thought that mousesavers pertained to only Disney! I'm gonna look into that also!

Thanks everyone for your input!

Is $450 a good deal for 5 1/2 days? Gosh I hope so, because that's pretty much all I'm finding!

We use hotwire. Not sure where you are going or what the rental market is like there, but for comparison, we got a 10 day rental for our Aug WDW vacation for $400 - taxes, etc included.

You might want to go directly to the car rental website and check there too. I got good rates at both Enterprise and Hertz the last time I rented. I went with Enterprise because they pick you up if you need them to.

$400 seems high to me.

With National I got 8 days in Orlando last May for $130. 4 days in Columbus Ohio, weekend before Christmas for $70. Both intermediate cars.
