About a month or two ago I read a thread about going to a Target store and requesting a baby registry packet in which there was a Saturn test drive certificate good for a $50 Target gift card upon completion of a Saturn test drive. I did the test drive and sent in the completed card. Today I received a letter requesting my registry # and the name of the store I registered at. Any suggestions how to fill this out? I am lead to believe that if you do not fill in a registry # you will not get the gift card. THANK YOU!

Go register quick. Nobody has to actually buy you anything! Just put down one or two items.

Do you think they will figure out that I registered after this letter, and figure out what happened?

I heard that people were selling the filled out forms on eBay. So I suppose Saturn/Target are just trying to verify that everything is on the "up and up."

The thing that gets me is that the packet didn't have a registry application in it. Just the Target propaganda (ads for baby stuff) and the testdrive form. You would think that if they want people to register they'd at least put an app in the packet.

I haven't done mine yet, so maybe I'll go register at Target first and then think about doing it.

I was just thinking, does it have to be a specific kind of registry, or could you do a "Special Occassion" registry for dates like your anniversary, birthday and Christmas?

The specific info requested on the follow up letter is:

1. I obtained the test drive voucher by registering with the Target Lullaby C lub in the Target Store located at __________

2. My Target Lullaby Registration Number is __________--

3. I participated in a test-drive at the Saturn of ____________

4. The vehicle I drove o the test drive was a (circle one or more): VUE, ION, L-Series

As I said, I am concerned that if I go and fill out a registry now, it will be obvious why I did.

I just may fill in #2 by saying that even though I received the packet, I decided to register elsewhere, but used the test drive anyway. This is the first test drive I've done, and I was nervous doing it as I knew I was not going to buy the car, and then this happens!

Oh well, I've lost an hour of my time if this does not work out!

Go ahead and register. If they question the dates, say you were ttc (trying to conceive) and picked up the packet for information but didn't want to register until you were sure. Or something like that.

Or register online and tell them you didn't have time to register at the store, but wanted to check out the info they had before you decided where to register.

If you actually did the test drive, don't give up so easily!

I would have no trouble finding tons of baby stuff to put on a registry, even if I don't need it. :)
