How soon after Christmas do you take them down? I am anxious to decorate but will not do so until after Thanksgiving maybe not until mid-December. I don't want to get tired of them before New Year's - my earliest take down date.

I start to take them down the day after New Year's. I "rest" on New Years.

after New Years --

I have xmas up in my house except for the tree--(I do that the day after thanksgiving)

have things ready for company to come by---

I  this time of the year

Traditionally we put ours up during the Thanksgiving weekend. (this year we'll be at WDW!) We don't take them down until after Jan. 6th, Epiphany. Sometimes they are up until the second week of January.

Just put everything up today. We bought a new pre-lit tree and wanted to make sure it was a keeper. That led to everything else being brought out. We will take it down about 3 days after Christmas... :goodvibes

We have 2 X-mas trees

.

X-Mas tree #1 went up last weekend and X-Mas tree #2 will go up on Friday. I like to break it up a little bit so I don't have to do it all at the same time.

I take down the weekend after New Years - so this year's take down date will be Saturday, Jan. 7th :)

we are putting ours up today, but we also take it down early. Sometimes we take it down christmas night. Once I start to put all the gifts away, I like to take the tree down too.

We'll usually put our tree up the week before Christmas and take it down after Epiphany.

December 26th. After the 25th, I'm done. Ready to get back to "normal" and wait for spring.

Ditto. Although it has been known to come down on the afternoon of the 25th.

I'm hoping to decorate the house for Christmas on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, then late Thanksgiving afternoon put the tree up so that night we can watch "Christmas Vacation."

We usually decorate/put the tree up the weekend following Thanksgiving, but I just feel like doing it all a bit early this year.

I take things down after New Year's Day.

We are leaving the 6th of January for our Florida vacation/cruise so definitely want everything down and put away before we go.

Same here! :wave2:

Usually we have ours up Thanksgiving weekend, and they stay up until January 6th.

I like them up the whole Christmas season, which (per Church) starts with Advent (the 27th of Nov) and ends on the Epiphany (Jan 6th). I cannot stand to see Christmas decorations yanked on the 26th of Dec... nor can I stand people putting them up before TG weekend.

I like to decorate right after Thanksgiving. We usually get our tree that weekend.

My tree comes down 12/26 and the rest is gone as soon as possible.

My tree usually comes down on Epiphany but seen as this year as we are going to WDW for Christmas I need to take my tree down before we go so my tree will come down on the 18th December!! It is either that or taking it down as soon as we get home and as I have to go to work that day I really don't want to do that!!

Well, Epiphany isn't until January 6, and we don't get home from WDW until Jan. 10, so ours will be a little late coming down this year.

I always thought Advent and Christmas were 2 different seasons, with Christmas from Dec 25 to Jan 6, and Advent being a time of preparation. Anyway, we put our tree up a couple of weeks before Christmas and take it down after Epiphany.

Since we put up fresh cut trees, they are usually in sad shape by 12/26 and ready to be removed.

We do the same. This past weekend, the weather was so nice, we thought about putting some up outside, but, we needed to finish cleaning up leaves first, so, it will be next weekend for us.
