I received a webbie from my points and tried to use it to buy a $25 gift card from Disney store, when I submitted I got a message to call Disney store guest services that my order could not go through. I then read more on the webcertificate.com website and it said something about when making a purchase make sure it is less then your available balance. Does that mean I have to add funds to it before I can purchase a gift card? I have a balance of $25. How much does it cost to add funds to it?

Hopefully mad4themouse will respond since she's the resident webbie expert. I think what happens (if I remember correctly) is that they run your card through with a $1 charge to see if it is valid before they actually charge your card for your purchase. The $1 is later credited back to your card. So the short of it is, if you want to make a purchase for $25, make sure there is at least $26 on it. The only way to avoid this is to take the card directly to the Disney Store and purchase your items there. Hope this made sense.

Sorry, I just saw this post. Denise is right on the money. It would matter if you were using a regular credit card but it does with pre-paid cards and debit cards.

I've never cashed out for an actual webbie card but was considering doing so for our cruise. I've taken the print out in to TDS with $25 and gotten $25 DD with no problem, they would just type in $25 for the amount to charge.

Was the OP trying to but something online? Will I encounter the same with in person with a plastic card?

I believe the original poster was trying to use their account number online.

I have the plastic card, and have had no trouble using it to buy DD at the DS, or anywhere else I have tried to use the card. I think the first time I used it for DD, I had $75 on it, and used it to buy $75 worth of DD. For me it was worth the $6.95 fee to not have to worry about any kind of hassles anytime I wanted to use my money "in person."

Thanks Eilonwy. I've decided to save all my points to redeem for a webbie to use on our trip in May 2005. It should be a pretty fair number by then. I was thinking that since it worked like a MC that I could use it at guest relations to help pay down our shipboard account.
