For those who have tried the Magic Bands

Does anyone know if you can link more than one ticket to the band?? I have a ticket that still has plus features (waterparks) left - and I have another ticket that is just for the parks. Can I link both??

Janis

I was able to change my credit card info but still do not have any option for parades and we are arriving in 20 days :cheer2:! Staying at BCV so I guess even though they are participating in magic bands and I did my FP+ selections, parades are not an option for me. Eveything else shows on my itinerary - dining, AP, etc.

Tried the soup can idea. Worked a bit so hoping with wear the band will "round out" at bit more. Love the colors we selected so much more than the gray. It was just a matter of time before you would have to pay for them!

Yes you can. It should be no issue for the computer to pick the correct one either since one is strictly plus and the other strictly park.

I received the invite. My GF and I are going down on Nov. 6th. I have a 3 night stay at BWV and 2 nights at BLT. They sent us two bands each. Is that right for a split stay? I thought they could just revert things over to the new reservation?:confused3

Yes, they are sending a set of MagicBands for each reservation. Both MagicBands for each person will be tied to that persons MDE profile and you can use them interchangeably.

We just got back from a split stay between BLT and BCV. BLT wasn't using the bands yet but we were able to at BCV.

I am a person who HATES change, but I must say the bands were awesome. We had a couple problems that I'm sure some would be livid about but it was no big deal to us. Initially only my dd was able to get into our room with the other 4 bands not linked. A trip to the front desk on our way to the pool fixed that.
At DHS, my AP wasn't connected to the band. I had to spend the first 30 minutes after getting to RD to have it fixed by 2 managers. They had to issue me a new AP card and we had to go back and forth to the front entry to see if it worked each time they tried. Thankfully TSM was down so I didn't miss out on that opening time of getting on that ride.

I LOVE being able to schedule my FPs without having to run all over the park to get the hard tickets and not knowing what times will be available. At MK, the morning we were there, I booked JC, SpM, and BTMR for 9, 10 and 11. There is no way I would be able to schedule that the old fashioned way.
I also thought that you could only get 3 FP a day at a park. I was able to get 2 FP each at EPCOT for Soarin, TT and MS at 6 different times. I was awesome.

My only suggestion while they are working out the kinks is to bring your hard copies of things. Many stands aren't accepting the bands yet for payment and you could be out of luck buying things if you only have your band on you. Plus when my band wasn't working at DHS, they had to look up my AP info in the computer since I didn't bring my AP ticket with me that am.

MDE is also great and seems to be well updated. We were able to check ride times and even if a ride was down before trekking halfway across a park just to find the ride is down.

My main complaint is that MDE is often down and I had a hard time adjusting my FP times when it was down which was frustrating.

Overall very happy with the bands even though I was very hesitant at first.

Very much agree! I liked just being able to tap the band (although we DID max out our spending limit ;) ) but found the MDE app difficult to use. I'd try to change our FP+ the night before as we changed our plans, and it would sometimes crap out on us. The day we went to AK, the app said we had THREE different times for three different attractions (and my app gave different times than DH's app), but it worked ok when we used it at the times we wanted.

What is the max now for cc. I know it was 1500. But heard its 500 now on the bands?

I think it still goes by resort classification. $500 for Value Resorts, $1000 for Moderate Resorts, and $1500 for Deluxe and DVC Resorts.

$1,500 for us. We didn't have the dining plan and charged everything.

We are going in June - taking my husbands sister's family as our guests (staying VWL). I have a MDE account and have all 8 of us on there (both families). However I do not want to have our CC linked onto their bands. When I do online check-in for them and put their CC information in for them and our CC info in for us - will that take care of if?

and another question.. has anyone had any issues getting the under cover tourist tickets linked versus the tickets ordered from disney? None of us will have APs this trip.

Not sure about Undercover Tourist tickets, but I bought tickets for my son and his family at AAA and had no trouble linking them to their names on our MDE plans. I was able to order Magic Bands for all of us (DBF and I already had APs which I also linked to MDE). I was also able to make Fast Pass+ reservations for all of us.

One reservation or two? You can only enter one CC per reservation during the on-line check-in process. If you are in one room, the front desk can assist you in setting up different CCs for each room occupant.

Great news! Thank you for sharing. I felt the same way as you - don't like change and hesitant to try something that might not be the way I already know how to do things. I guess I am still a little old fashioned and leary of the computer. I like hard copies of reservations and tickets - just to be sure nothing is wiped out by mistake. Maybe I am a little bit of a worry wart. ;)
I did end up ordering the MB for our upcoming trip (4 weeks) from today. Hopefully, I can report good news too when we return!

We weren't offered bands, we arrived at our two resorts before they started using them. But I did notice people struggling with them at theme park entrances when they had to touch the band to the ball and press their finger to the other device. Some were crossing their hands to get the right finger/wrist on the device.

We have linked out UT ticket, had small issue early, but one call to IT and they fixed it. It saw that they were park tickets, but it was not letting us pick FP+, they dropped them and reloaded and it was off to the races.:cool1:

I am currently not a fan of the idea of these magic bands but I AM curious how it will REALLLLY work once the implementation is complete. We have AP's and are going in January so who knows if everything will be ready by then and if we will get them. I don't quite get how they work with those of us who have existing AP's.:confused3 The one thing that disturbs me is that they only allow 3 FP+ tix / day in ONE PARK. We are big park hoppers so that will be super annoying once they remove the old FP machines. Just seems to limited to me. We like being able to hit one park early & another later and still be able to grab a FP or 2 at the 2nd park for later in the day. And then there's the whole tan line thing. :rotfl:

Two rooms - I just have all eight of us under the MDE account.

So if I am understanding correctly - it doesn't matter how many are under the MDE account - the credit cards will automatically go to the correct rooms/people when I do the online check-in for each family?

Thanks. Hoping by the time I order tickets for everyone (Dsil sent money for all of their stuff) more of the "kinks" will be ironed out.
