If you tried to bank 2004 points, did Member Services hold you strictly to the banking deadlines or, due to the fact that you just obtained these new points, were you allowed to bank what you wanted even if it was more than the usually percentage allowed?

For instance if you had a June use year then you would normally only be able to bank 25% of your total points at this time. I have read of instances very recently where MS allowed more than this to be banked when member had purchased a new add on.

Just want to know if that is unusual or is common for that situation. Thanks! :flower:

For what it's worth, I've already seen conflicting responses on that topic.

Try making it a condition of the sale and see how anxious your Guide is to get the business. ;)

I just added on over the week end and because I have a June use year I asked for my points to be added to 2005. You get an 8 dollar per point discount and the 100 bonus points to use in your 05 use year or bank to 06.

I have an April use year - did add-on over the weekend- got (120) 2004 points, called MS and they made an exception and banked all points BUT I got a $5 dollar discount - not $8...humm...

Actually - that is the stated deal Owl that I have seen. If you take the 2004 points, you only get $5 off. If you forgo the 2004 points, you get an $8 discount per point.

we were there in disney world when we added on, and certainly not going back within 2 months!

My guide said we would have to adhere to banking guidelines.

This was making 2004 points useless-- except for renting out the points, but ms said ok to banking all of the 2004 points :bounce: after
''doing some checking".

I don't know exactly what they "checked on", but I called back to confirm they were banked after reading conflicting banking statements here for 2004 points.

Still a good deal for us, either way.

I wanted to add on anyway and would have rented these points out for a discounted rate since I would not have paid maintenance on them, but all the better to bank them!

I got my June UY 04 points in early March after the 50% deadline.

My guide told my normal banking windows would be used and I was on the hook for half of my total points after the contract was done. I was planning on renting or a long weekend in May.

I called up MS and asked about banking and she immediately offered me a "one time banking exception" and let me bank all 120 points into 05. Not sure how strict they are with the "one time" part of the exception, but I will bank on time and not try to find out.

I keep asking, but haven't heard from anyone about the dues on the add on.

My rep told me that if I took the 04 UY points that I would owe dues from Mar thru Dec and no bonus points.

What's in your contracts that might say differently??

To people that have banked your 04 points with the add ons, where you able to confirm on a callback that they were banked? Thanks.

This is probably what's happening. The guide will tell you it can't be bank but MS will give an exception. I don't think there is any official policy at all and it all depends on who you talk to.
