I have never done it. I am wanting to go this year to get the trampoline for my kids. How many do they usually have? I have a 24 hour store...what time should I get there? Can I order the same products online or is the black friday sales only in store? Will they put the trampolines where they usually are or since it is black friday do they just put them in random spots through out the store?

How much are they?

Wal-mart is saying that they have changed their procedures so it's hard to say what it will be like now. I would go to their website or call and see what time they officially start. Get there early and position yourself as well as possible.

I did go a few times in year's past and it was rather wild. It's good that it's different now.

We also have a 24 hour Walmart and we went there last year. We went to Walmart late Thanksgiving night to check the place out and get some ideas for how to handle the next morning... and there were already people waiting for electronics! Since my sister was staying at our house with the kids, we went back to Walmart before midnight and got in line. The line was in the back of the store where the Site-to-Store pick-up area is and we waited. By 5 am when the sales officially started, the store was packed. My wife stayed in line and bought the TV that we had gone there to get while I went and picked up the other couple of items that we wanted. By the time it was her turn in line for the TV, I had the other items and we payed for it all there together.

Some of the observations that I made last year that could help you:

1. Ask employees how the item that you want will be handled. Last year, the TVs were in one place, video games in another, and so on.

2. Get a map of where they are going to put everything. Some items are placed in odd places.

3. Have more than one person if possible. It will be hard to move around the store.

4. Do not get a cart unless you must. It will be easier to get through the store without one.

5. If you have more than one person, get someone in line to check out before you are ready. The lines get very long very fast.

Good luck! We will be at our Walmart again this year.

At my wal-mart which is a 24 hour one.

They put the items in that are door busters in the middle of the aisles. You go and stand next to the item you are waiting for. At the time of the "door opening" The employees will then allow you to take the item.

One word of advice, it is WILD in there. People arguing people trying to say they were in line when they weren't. a MAD house. But worth it, my sisters and my mother and I gear up for black friday every year. I can't wait. I leave for disney tomorrow and will be home wen. and hit the stores early early fri am. We usually leave the house around 3 am.

Last year I saved 342.00 dollars on black friday!!!
Good luck

I saw in their ad that you can go online and look up your store and they have a layout of where all the doorbuster items will be located in the store. I went to our 24hr last year and people were just grouped around the item that they wanted and waited until 5:00. Then I guess they grabbed and moved on.

Good Luck!!!

After waiting hours last year, I came home with nothing. I got there about 1am to buy a laptop. There were already people in line so I asked if there was enough for me to get one. I was assured yes. Then I asked a couple of more times. At 5am when it started, the line moved very slowly but I thought I just needed to be patient. A little after 6am I was told all laptops were gone but I could stay in line for the Xbox which I didnt' want. Really, really disappointed in how it was handled. My son said they let the first guy in line buy several.

I've been, and I don't anticipate ever doing it again.

Years and years ago -- before our Walmart was 24 hours -- they opened the doors and everyone acted foolishly in an attempt to get into the store. Now that we have a 24 hour SuperWalmart, people are already IN the store when "the time" arrives, and they can go ahead and get the items . . . but the cashiers don't sell them for the special price 'til X:00. This is better, but pushing and shoving still goes on.

Anyway, here's why I won't go again: I saw just too much bad behavior, and I don't want to be a part of it. Too many people are just combative. The worst thing I saw was two women fist fighting over the last bicycle . . . and while they were fighting, another woman came and took the bicycle -- they were both so intent on fighting that they didn't even realize they'd both lost the prize! I don't want to be accidentally caught up in that kind of thing, and it could happen so easily. You know what I mean: it's very possible that someone could want the item I have, or I could be too close to a couple people just before a fight breaks out. The potential savings aren't worth that kind of trouble.

Ha--there's a modern day Aesop's Fable in there, isn't there?

Good luck to all the Black Friday shoppers. I'm sticking to online shopping this year.

Use there map! You can print one off there website according to there BF ad. I havent tried yet but I cant wait. Walmart depends on the towns size. Our town is small and its bad at the doors but Ive never seen any bad behavior, well, other than the man who tripped and landed with his hands on a ladys backside, she slaped him (hard) but other than that the behavior isnt too bad.

i don't see anything on the main page of the wal-mart website to print a BF doorbuster store map, or even look at one, but i'd heard about this several days ago. does anyone have a link?

I wonder how they handle video games since those are locked up?

Does anyone have the direct link to the maps ? I'm trying to decide between Walmart and Target. I might position my husband at Target and I'll go to Walmart.

I always made my own up-- gone to the store Tuesday night, sketched them out and gone from there.

From what I have heard all Walmarts will be opening at midnight this year because of what happened last BF, but the sales will not start until advertised. I have never been, I have always been to chicken, but I think I may brave it this year. I am not purchasing any of the big ticket items. I just want silly stuff like pajamas, football, soccer ball and a few toys. No electronics or anything like that. I would definately call your stop by your local store and find out the details of how they are handling things.

Good luck to all the BF Walmart shoppers!!!!
