please tell me how you liked the character meal.

I have reservations in December, but it will be cutting into some prime park time in the Magic Kingdom. Is the experience worth it?

How was the food, the ambience, and the character interaction?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I have not been there yet - have ADRs for Saturday night. But remember that they are not going to have characters after this year ;)

yes, you may want to keep in mind that after January 4 Liberty Tree will cease to be a character meal.

LTT is so much fun!! The food is really good, and I have always gotten really good character interaction there. The characters are Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale (they are in colonial outfits).

Since you're going in December, I thought I'd tell you about the place. It has great character interaction--they (Chip and Dale, Pluto, Goofy, and Minnie) come around often. The food is so-so. Runny mashed potatoes--yuck. It was one of the places when we finished, we thought it was nice to try once. Honestly, I'd do Crystal Palace before LTT. Good characters, and the food is much better. If time is really a concern, go for Pecos Bill's. Decent food at a decent price, and it won't take long.

We will be at WDW on Christmas week and I will be taking my grandson to dinner there on Dec 21st. During Christmas week do they do anything special there, like having the characters in costume?
TIA

The characters at Liberty Tree Tavern are always in costumes: colonial patriot clothes...like what would have been worn during the American Revolutionary war.

Minnie's in a long flowered dress & little cap (think picture of Betsy Ross), Goofy has the vest & knee breeches, etc.

We enjoyed the meal, but it's not anything special. Think Thanksgiving-type food, but not quite as good as homemade! The apple cobbler dessert topped with icecream was scrumptious though.

The character interaction is great, though. Even though we were just a couple of adults, the characters all stopped by the table for pictures & to say hi. At tables with kids, the characters spent extra time.

We were just there 3 weeks ago and this is always a must do for us. Probably will continue to be even though the characters will be gone in 2009. The food is good, they have done something different with the flank steak and I could not get enough of it, kept ordering more. The salad and green beans are good. The desert is excellent. The character interaction, IMHO, some of the best at any table service restaurant as the characters usually make it around twice while you eat, always friendly.

That sounds wonderful and I really appreciate your quick response! I am not really going for the food, but to take a LOT of pictures while the characters are still present. Thank you so very much!
I wonder how the restaurant will fare with no characters and so so food.
