What point was the most exciting for you?

Our house won't even be started until November, the road isn't even in yet. I'm actually excited just for the stupid road to be built.

But for you, what was the most exciting part? :)

WE closed on our house 7 mths ago. It took us about 5 mths to build. SInce we were trying to get the house built before baby was born every part was exciting. When we bought our land, then when the foundatin was poured, then the studs, ... It was all exciting. The most exciting is when we closed on our house Sept 13th and had our son on Sept. 14th.

We were supposed to close on our house on Sept. 2 nd, but Katrina kept that from happening. The builders did not finish our house until Sept. 10th--they worked several days into the night since they knew the baby was due any day. Went to the Dr. early on the 13th and he asked if we could induce the next morning--was supposed to on the 11th, but I canceled since we did not have a house. I said great. So we signed papers on the 13th, Joshua was born on the 14th, DH and friends moved us in on the 15th--remember Katrina--no power--well power was restored to our area on the night of the 15th and we came home on the 16th from the hospital. This was the most exciting--me and baby coming home to our new house together.

We lived about a mile from where our new house was being built so we were there everyday (the construction workers were probably so sick of us!!) Every little thing was so exciting to me but I was over the top when they put the tile in, I knew that it wouldn't be much longer until we got to move in! We took pictures from start to finish, it was pretty cool to see the progression.

Good Luck with everything :sunny:

We are having a house built right now here in Las Vegas and we close in July. I think for us the most exciting times have been going up to the site and watching the place start with just dirt and now....frame by frame.

This has to have been one of the best experiences I have ever had with a home..."so far"...

Every big step was exciting! The best parts where when the framing started and then again when everything was in and completed!

The framing was exciting because one day there was just a foundation and then the next day there was the shell of our house! It made it real. I really liked it when the drywall went up, then flooring went in and appliances.

I took pictures during every step and it's really cool now to go back and look at the house with no drywall or before any finish work was done!

we are currently doing a modular home

the demolition of my old home was exciting ( made it more real)

then the foundation was the next step

then the actual set of the house!!

now we are in the final stages of finishing up before we move in...today the curbs are being done, the electric is being finished up, water, siding...all exciting!!!

although stress and excitement are feelings that are similar ( in my situation)..... every day is exciting as we only are renting a home around the corner, i am in-around it everyday.... i'll breathe a sigh of relief once all is done!!! and i'll NEVER go through this again...too much stress-excitement for me!!! good luck and take lots of pictures so you'll be able to remember every little good ( and bad) detail!!! in the end it's all good!

Seeing a hole in the ground was always exciting, at least they'd started!
I always got really excited when the sheetrock went up. You could really get a feel for the room size and layout. It seems to go pretty quickly after that because all the work is so obvious, as opposed to when they're doing the wires, ductwork and plumbing in the walls. Then it just looked like a bunch of wires and tubes!

I wish my smilies would work, because I'd be using all the happy ones today! (I don't know why they aren't, but that's computer life).

These are exciting stories. It's good that you people can help me get even more pumped up for that extra large mortgage I'm going to have pretty soon. LOL!

Like the others, every little thing was exciting for us. We lived nearby too, and would drive by almost every evening after work and take pictures of the progress. It's funny to look at them now. Here are 20 pictures of a hole in the ground. Here are 20 pictures of a bigger hole in the ground. Here are 20 pictures of a hole in the ground with forms for concrete, etc, etc, etc. :lmao:

I love to look at the progress, but I think we went a little overboard on the number of pictures. :rolleyes2

I think my favorite part, though, was the framing. Thats when it really started to look like a house. :teeth:

It's an awesome experience. Have fun with it! :goodvibes:
