For those who got the free tic from south west

We came home from the second trip needed last week (some got a postcard from SW..fly twice 'tween May and Sept and get a free ticket..it seemed ot be a random thing)..and I got nothing from SW saying we got our free tickets. I clicked on the awards button on the left in my account, and there they were...the free tickets (one round trip for each of us). The gal at SW had told me that I would lose the points for these two trips..but I didn't! I now only need 3 points each before Sept 9 and we have two more free ones.
Anyone else..should I wait to book something cheap (quick trip to Hartford and back, maybe lol!) in case they take those away? We get 1.5 rewards for each leg when we book online, right?
Gail..do you know if it's safe to assume we'll get to keep these reward points from teh two trips?

WOW, good question. I would say if they are in your RR account then they will probably stay there.
If you come to Hartford, let me know. Except I don't think SWA flies from your neck of the woods to Hartford.

Yeah..I just found that out. Bummer..figured that would have been our cheapest way out. We figured we'd have lunch in the airport, come home and that was that. LOL

We'll have to wait for a sale and go visit DC I guess. Can you believe they let us keep the reward miles? What a great company!!

Doris--They'd have to, at least temporarily, credit points for your first trip since they have no way of knowing if you'll take the second trip and earn the bonus ticket. The first trip may put some customers over the 16 point threshold for a regular RR ticket.

SW may have just decided to allow customers to get regular RR points and the bonus ticket. The alternative would be to debit the accounts and possibly have a negative balance for some customers.

Yes, Lewis, I assumed they would give me the rewards : ) What surprised me, is they gave me the free tics a few days ago, and nothing was subtracted from my rewards. I'm giving it a few days before I book a short flight somewhere to hit 16..and hoping the special had nothing to do with our rewards.
