For those who go bagless, what is your rain strategy?

Leaving on Friday and cannot wait! I see a lot of people bring ponchos, rain coats, umbrellas, etc. in anticipation of rain. We currently live in Mobile, AL and previously lived in Seattle, so rain doesn't bother us, but I was curious what you do when you do not bring the aforementioned items and get caught in the rain. Do you just go with the flow and keep marching on? Do you duck inside a restaurant or show? I am just curious. Thanks!

I carry those disposable rain ponchos that are in a little packet that fits in my pocket. That's all I need. I really barely ever use them unless it's a downpour. Usually, I'll just hop in a nice, covered line queue and by the time I am done with the ride, the rain is also done.

It depends on the storm. If it looks like a rainy day then we might bring a backpack for ponchos or have each person put a cheap disposable poncho in their pocket. Cargo pants are good for this. We previously lived in the PNW too and don;t melt in the rain. We can usually find something to do indoors when we're caught off guard, but really we just go with the flow.

We have umbrellas that are about 8" long, or maybe even less. They fit in DH's shorts pocket. He'll stick them in his pocket most days. If we are caught off guard we just duck in somewhere.

Like a pp, everyone has their own little poncho, easily fits in a pocket. We have been bagless for 40 years, even all the new DIL and the grands. We cargo up, and off we go!

If a forecast shows hours of heavy rain, then we bring cheap ponchos in cargo pants pockets, but usually just deal with it.

Try to go to an attraction where the line's not out in the open. If it continues, get the umbrella from the car

We have mostly gone when it is hot. Honestly, the ponchos just make you sweaty and gross. Mostly, we just got wet and dealt with getting wet. DH did buy some quick drying clothes. These are also easy to handwash in the sink instead of doing laundry.

When we went in February, DH had a very light weight rain jacket which he put in his pocket.

We don't bring rain gear. We'll get wet looking for shelter of some sort then wait it out.

Thanks for the feedback! We do bike rides and walks here in rain storms, so I figured, no problem for Disney! I cannot wait!!

I also wear sandals that do well in the rain. Also, consider carrying a stick of Body Glide or something...one time, there was a chafing problem once the clothes got wet

We just get wet and deal with it.
This. On our last trip, we had purchased memory maker, and DW felt that I wasn't as enthusiastic as I should be for pictures. One day, we get caught in a downpour in EPCOT. We are taking cover under the overhang of a shop near the international gateway. DW decides to go into the shop to pass time. I see a photo pass photographer also taking cover under the overhang. So, while DW is shopping, I ask the photographer to take some shots of me "dancing" in the rain. DW comes out of the shop, and I tell her to check her phone app, and she sees the photos. So of course she wants to take pictures "dancing" in the rain too, so we have some fun photos of us soaking wet and "dancing" in the rain together.

ETA: The photographer took the pictures while still under the overhang, so his equipment was not in danger of getting wet.

If it is warm out we just get wet and keep on going. If it is cooler we bring our rain jackets.

I will wear sandals if I know it's likely to rain because I hate wet socks and it takes forever for tennis shoes to dry. We don't mind getting wet, but we don't play around with lightning so if its a thunderstorm we will just take shelter in a store or attraction.

Just keep moving.
Or time our afternoon naps to the rain.
I refuse to lug stuff around the park because of what ifs.
