For those who did the fantasmic dining package...

...which one and where did you sit or stand?

Any tips?

We did the blue bayou package. The area was front and centre of the lagoon. You could sit in the front (you get a foam cushion with your reservation) or you can stand along the back. We ended up sitting right up front along the railing, but to be perfectly honest if you don't mind standing, I think it might have been more pleasant to stand along the back of the section. Then you don't have the railing in front of you either. The section wasn't too full at all for the first show last night, although I expect they got some cancellations with the rain so it might be busier in the future. The only tip I would have would be to get there early, they probably won't let you in much if any before 8:15 if you're doing the early show, but it took us awhile to figure out where to go, and even then missed getting in right away due to some miscommunication between the CMs. With the amount of people in the section yesterday it would have been easy to cruise in at 8:35 and just stand along the back. Hopefully after tonight and tomorrow there will be some more feedback as to the number of people.

Can you tell us about the dinner itself? Did you pick any appetizer, entree and dessert you wanted or was it a set fixed menu to choose from that's different from the regular dinner menu?

Thanks. We're doing bb tomorrow. With 5 kids in tow sitting will be welcomed. They were pretty unhappy standing on Friday!

I ate at Riverbelle Terrace on Saturday night, 12/13/14. I ended up at the 2nd show because I had a fastpass for World of Color and wanted to see that. (so, did World of Color, fireworks, and Fantasmic). I'll talk more about it on the show, but we were seated to the right of the Blue Bayou crowd, sans the 1" cushions.

They had a set menu for it that you chose from. I took photos of the menu, I probably won't get to it tonight but I'll see if I can add the photos to this thread tomorrow. Off the top of my head for the appetizers you could choose a salad (which I had, it was quite good), the gumbo, or shrimp. There were quite a few entrees to choose from, I can't remember them all, but they had the Tesoro chicken, filet mignon, tri-tip steak (which was MASSIVE), surf and turf, and a couple others. For dessert you chose between regular creme brulee, apple cranberry galette, or hazelnut chocolate cake. I took pics of our meals as well, so I'll see if I can get those up too. If not, I'll at least put down the descriptions for the choices! I haven't eaten at BB for years, so unfortunately I can't comment how the food compares to the regular menu/servings, but we thought it was all pretty decent. I had the chicken which was a little salty and rich for my taste, but that's probably just me! The desserts were really good I thought, especially the galette!

I had a Blue Bayou reservation on Friday 12/12 @ 5:30, I showed up to check in around 5pm and was seated early.

I posted about my actual experience in another thread...but the actual attending Fantasmic! and finding where to line up was a bit confusing, I was told four different things from four different CMs. When I finally did get into the viewing section, I was about 5 people back from the railing, but I was in the very center. Sitting on the ground with tired feet and a stiff body was not pleasant. While I enjoy the Fantasmic! show, it's hard to stand for long periods of time after a long day of being in the Parks, which is why I opted to sit, but with no support for my back and no room to really stretch out, I honestly think this may be the last time I see Fantasmic! (Unless they bring back some sort of viewing that includes chairs.)

As to my meal, I had the Gumbo (seriously, one of my favorite food items in the Park), Surf & Turf, and the Creme Brulee. Oh and to drink, I had mint juleps (another favorite!)

Here are the pics:

Surf & Turf (the lobster tail, is actually half a lobster tail, it's hard to tell from this picture, it was cut in half lengthwise. Blue Bayou potatoes on the bottom, with a few choice vegetables)

And the Creme Brulee. It was fantastic!

The FP said to meet in front of Frontierland, however I was eventually directed to "hang around" the area in front of Pirates.

And here is the cushion:

For either the Blue Bayou or River Belle Terrace dining package, did you get to choose which show you got a FP for? I asked the information CMs at the FP distribution locations and they said that it was first come/first serve in terms of FPs (subject to availability) and you requested which show you wanted when you checked in. I expected it to be something like Aladdin's Oasis, where the time of the meal determined which show you got a FP for. Any insights would be great!

No, I was not given a choice of which show I wanted to attend. The FP was in the folder when he brought my check. I also did not think to ask at that point because I already was soooo tired and don't think I could have made it to the second show.

I ate around 5pm or so, and they gave me the fastpass for the 8:45 show. I told them I was going to see WoC at 8:45, and so they exchanged my fastpass for the 10:45 show. I didn't have a problem.

Here's the menu from BB for F! Sorry for the crappy pictures, I didn't want to use my flash in the restaurant.

As for which showing, I think we did request the 8:45 showing when we made the reservation, and that was what we got. Our reservation was for 4pm if that makes any difference. I have some food pics I'll post as well.

And the desserts:

Creme brulee:

Apple-cranberry galette (it doesn't normally have a candle, it was my Aunt's birthday):

Chocolate Hazelnut cake:

Again I apologize for the bad pictures, there was a big group of us so I was pointing and shooting very quickly! Hope this helps :)

When I made my reservation for Feb for Blue Bayou on a Sun night they informed me the FP is according to your dinner time 4-6:30 is the 8:45 F! And 6:30 on is the 10:45 F!

So you don't get to watch Fantasmic whilst eating your dinner...Is that correct? Kinda thought that would be the point of a Fantasmic Dinner Package

No. You dine, and they give you a FP after you pay for your meal.

Blue Bayou has no windows and there would be no way to see the show from inside. It's location in New Orleans Square is set back from the Rivers of America with no direct line of sight (even from the lobby.)
