Have you made your reservations yet? How about airline reservations?

We've done neither as I'm waiting for the 7month window next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Airfares are still through the roof. Anyone have any experience with this timeframe? Will the rates go down (I hope!)?

If airfare doesn't go down, we may decide to drive. Which was why we wanted to go for 12 nights to keep that option open.

No way we're driving 18+ hours each way for a 5 day trip.

These $115.00 fares have me salviating...

I'm pretty sure I've been down for Pres' Week before and I don't remember paying so much for air but I may have blocked out the memory...

Pres. week is a tough time to go. You probably won't get any discounts on air fare. If you are flying SW out of Hartford or Providence, get your flights the day that they come out. You will have to keep an eye on the SW website. Another thing to be concerned about is the weather. Last year we were at WDW and it was cold. We didn't use sunscreen for the entire week and had our jackets on for most of the days.

We used to go every year at President's week, the parks are real crowded. It is one of the busy weeks down there. The good thing is the weather as a general rule is warm enough to swim and sun yourself, some days anyway. About a 50% chance to have weather you can enjoy the pools with. It is really just great to get down there and have days that hit 70 or so. Like one has already said I would not count on getting any discount air at that time.

We're going to be down there also for a family reunion - with one teacher and five school-aged children, we didn't have many choices. We were afraid April would be too warm for my parents. I'm worried about the weather - but I'm sure it will be an improvement over the NorthEast!!

We always go away during Presidents' week but haven't done DVC in a couple of years during that time because the airfare is so high to Orlando. The last time we went was in 2002 and we drove so we wouldn't have to buy six airline tickets. Next year we are going elsewhere as well for that week. Maybe we'll go back in 2006.

I think it's a great time to go though. Disney weather in February sure beats the northeast anyday. You just have to use fast pass, the early entry and any e-nights to your advantage. Get out of the parks in the crowded afternoons.

Have fun.

We went President's Week this year. The crowds were bad at MK, that was the only placed I noticed it to be overwhelming. We flew on Jet Blue out of JFK for a great deal. Check them out....don't know which end of CT you live in. Bradley is more convenient, but I can never beat Jet Blue's prices and the planes, direct TV's, and service are outstanding.

We will be taking my daughter out of school for a couple days the end of the week before so we can go on wed. the 16th (also the end of value season at WDW resorts) and will be returning on the 25th or 26th. We will do MK on the thurs and friday before Pres. week to hopefully avoid some of the crowds.

We want to fly down on Airtran. They have the only direct flight from Rochester. I'm still waiting for their schedule to come out. It should be any day now. If it reasonable (for ROC that is!!), I'm going to book it. BTW we love Jet Blue here!

Anyone else going to be there?? We could do a Grand Gathering!

Thanks for all the replies! If anyone gets a heads up on when the airfares for that week come out, please let me know.

We've flown JetBlue several times and have always been pleased. Love those leather seats and tv's on the back.:D AirTran is also great for the prices we've been able to get. I would definitely fly on either of those if I could get anywhere near a "good deal".

We actually live closer to NY than to Hartford so we usually fly out of LaGuardia or sometimes JFK (if Jetblue), but Hartford is definitely do-able if I could get a good price.

I should've mentioned that while we'll be flying in and out of Orlando, we'll be spending the bulk of our time at Vero if I can get a reservation next week. We plan on arriving Fri. spending 2 nights at the Hyatt in Orlando and then heading to Vero on Sunday. No parks for us this time:( But hopefully lots of sunshine and relaxation. Given that I work at a school and will have 2 teens in hs, we've no choice about the week we go.

I'm not a seasoned airline traveller but I believe JetBlue and all the major airline have their flights out for that week. Airtran has no set date, just somewhere between 7-9 months before, so for the last month or so I've be checking daily.

Yes, the flights are out, however, the prices are still sky high (pun intended)!

We will be at OKW 2/20 - 2/27. We got some Frequent flyer flights on USAirways out of Hartford the day that the schedule became available. Actually fly into MCO on 2/18 PM, but wouldn't think of using those precious points for another Fri/Sat. !!!!
