So have we learned that they can hold a room or not?

I think they can. My guess is that points are needed to release a room, but she definitely mentioned that she would call someone to release the last room to her, and then she cancelled what I had and used the points to keep the 2 bedroom. After she told me she would call to have the room released, I was on hold.

At no time when I was on hold, was I worried that I was going to lose everything because 2 days ago, I "gave up" a studio at BCV for a weekend in June, and booked a 2 bedroom just for the weekend because the DS's family would join us, and that transaction went smoothly.

I find it interesting now that I have 1 reservation number and at BCV, it covers the 5 nights that DH and I are in a studio, and then the 2 nights that we have the 2 bedroom with our family.

I also found it interesting that at 3 months out, I was able to book a larger villa in 2 DVC resorts for the weekend, Friday and Saturday. At BCV, there were "many" 1 bedrooms still available.
