I hated hearing my voice yesterday but I figure it's worth it to be involved and have fun with the podcast.

If you listen I say "Uh" quite a few times and then I laughed at myself for saying "cool" too many time. lol.

It was a lot of fun though!

Obviously, it pays to be just slightly off-kilter in one way or another. Steve sings and he's recognized immediately when he calls in or writes. That can't be a bad thing. So, I have to think that sounding like a "loon" may pay off with the podcast crew!

I have to say I am always nervous when I leave a voice mail. I wasn't on this week, but was on last week. I must have re-recorded my voice mail 3 times before I finally got it all in and was somewhat happy with the result. So what do I do? Mispronounce pralines! There was no way I was going to go back through that dissertation just for one word; I was just hoping no one would notice. So what is the first thing Julie says, "pra (rhymes with bra) - leans" BUSTED!

I know what you guys mean about overkill...I have left one voice mail now and I have probably sent in about 6 emails over the last few months, but they never choose mine.

I am getting worried that my questions are dumb and my husband said that they probably blacklisted me, because the first question I ever sent was dumb...I was a podcast newbie

I know how you feel. That is the story of my life. I am the most unlucky person in the world (Except in love and I guess that is where it truly counts. ). Needless to say, I don't play the lottery. We could be at WDW and they are giving out things to everyone around me and I must be invisible because I ALWAYS get overlooked. I'm 5'5" and my DH is 6'5". So, sometimes I may be invisible (just kidding!). It just gets frustrating when it is time and time again. Case in point, I called a local radio station this morning. They were looking for caller 10 (I was caller 11. I think they told me that just to torment me! ). Oh well. I think life likes to play these little jokes on me to make me appreciate what I do have. I tell my kids that all the time, I guess I need to follow that motto too.

Well I just left a voicemail today and I only had to record it twice before I was somewhat satisfied with the outcome. I'm sure I taked too fast and my words got cut off, but oh well, I tried.

Case in point, I called a local radio station this morning. They were looking for caller 10 (I was caller 11. I think they told me that just to torment me! ).

Oh that stinks! I used to work at a radio station and if we were looking for the tenth caller we would tell two people in a row that they were caller number 8 because we felt too bad telling people they were number 9, after caller ten we didn't pick up. Apparently that station doesn't do that! And to be honest, there is no machine to keep track, so for a while when we were doing caller 100, people would lose count sometimes it was much more accurate when only taking caller no. 10!

Whew! I just rambled a long-winded message...I had really good intentions of hitting the # sign at the end to listen and (most likely) re-record if need be but I was so nervous I just hung up. I doubt it'll get picked anyway but now I'm just embarrassed that anyone has to listen to it!

I started leaving a voice mail explaining how to pronounce Tympani. Well, I was very nervous and said "Hopefully we can avoid having any more Bob moments" and as soon as it came out of my mouth I realized how insensitive that sounded so I said Blah! out of frustration and hung up. I called back and left a much better message.

Which one did they play??? The one where I sound like an insensitive jerk, of course.

I've called and left some additional messages apologizing and asking new questions. Unfortunately, they haven't been played yet. So until they give my my shot at redemption you can just call me the insensitive jerk.
