For those that have an AP

We are probably going to upgrade our MYW tickets to AP's b/c we are going in August and then a return trip in February. I added it up last night and we will save a few hundered dollars (at least).

What I am curious about is the special AP offers. Are there certain months (like the slow times) that you receive special AP pin codes? What do the codes usually entail...free dining or a percentage off during your stay? And if it is for a percentage off....can this be used for deluxe resorts? Are you better to book another stay with bounceback rates, or thru AP?

Usually AP discounts are a percentage off the room rate. The AP discounts come out all times of the year and can be used for deluxe resorts depending on the offer and the availablility. It's best to call ASAP when the AP codes/discounts comes out because of limited availibility.

Focusing on your bounceback question: the bounceback is usually a little better than AP -- but far more limited choices of resorts and dates. AP usually has fairly good choices if you act fast after the code comes out. And even after that, folks cancel and you can usually get what you want with a discount for all but the most busy seasons or choicest location (e.g., hard to get 2bdrm villa at BCV on discount -- but easy to get BC room). Once the economy turns around , it might be harder to get your first choice on AP rate, but there will be plenty of choices. If it helps at all: since we went from length of stay tickets to AP, we have not once regretted it. (But it is addicting, you may find yourself adding trips 'cause "free" park entrance is a magnet. Just fair warning.)

Also, do you already have the 10% discount pass along savings card from an AP holder for each of your soon to be APs? If not, and you are buying ny end of July at a Disney gate, PM me and I'd be happy to mail you the cards. I have 8. I'm fairly sure it works with MYW upgrades -- but you have to do it at a park or guest relations window on property.
