For those that drive - do you countdown until you leave or until you're in WDW?

Just curious.

I countdown until we leave. As long as I'm the car headed to WDW, I'm happy.

Plus, for me, half the fun is getting there.

I countdown til the day we actually leave. We leave on the 3rd of May, so that puts us at 15days until our vacation offically starts. I made a countdown calendar and each day my little girls and I take turns ripping off days. Can't wait til hubby packs up the car and we're off.

Flying we count down until the night before we leave. Our motto is you don't count the day you leave or the day you are asking me. And if we are driving we don't count the night we are packing the car.
So if we were leaving Sunday and today is Monday in our time we have 5 days to go flying and 4 days to go for driving.

The day we leave is the start of our vacation. That is part of the whole experience. Driving from NJ is an experience in itself I guess.

We count down until the day we leave. As another PP stated, the vacation begins the day we leave, even if that means that we don't arrive at WDW the next day. It takes us approx. 16-17 hours (pending the weather) to get to WDW. So as soon as we hop into the car, we are on vacation!! We've got 55 more days until we leave and it just seems like yesterday that it was 100. Time is going by pretty fast!!

We never really did much of a countdown. We just knew the vacation had officially started when, as we drove down the ramp to get on the interstate, my dad would say, "And we're......" My mom and sister and I would yell, "OFF!" We still do it when we take road trips! Then, when we were about an hour or so from Disney, my sister and I would start a Disney sing-a-long to vent our excitement!
