Minor work vent coming--turn back now if you don't want to see me whine ;)

So, I work IT Phone Support for 174+ retail outlets, and and additional 700 end office users. I ALWAYS pick up my phone, "Good (morning/afternoon/evening) MIS Dept, this is Debbie speaking." ALWAYS!!!

So I just get off the phone with one of our end users. His first question is "Hi Debbie, do you work in MIS?"

Ummmm, yeah, I just answered the phone to say I did, and you called me, right? OK--he proceeds to tell me his problem, and I need one more piece of info from him. He puts me on hold for 32 seconds (I have a timer on my phone) and when he comes back, he says; "Hi, Linda?" Ummm, no, it's Debbie, actually.

"Oh, I'm sorry. But you're in MIS, right?"

Ugh--I think this guy has some short term memory issues. Perhaps he is related to Dory (the fish).

*sigh* I feel better now, thanks for letting me vent.
 
I feel ya! People just don't listen. we answer the phone here "Relocation and Client Services" and typically get back "My dryer needs to be fixed", "I need to hook up my phone service", "My insurance policy was cancelled for no reason".

We are one number off from Whirlpools service line and apparently have a number very similar to Qwest.

I wish people would just listen...
 
I always get to hear wonderful things about end users from my hubby:) He works in IT at his job. He told me the higher their title says they are the worse they get:rolleyes: Of course he does have one end-user that drives him crazy all the time with different issues. If this person doesn't stop cuasing problems he is going to take away the computer and not give them a new one. So if I ever stop posting , it's becuase he refused to give me another computer:teeth: :tongue:

LOL!!! I completely understand your DH! My own DH is treading on thin ice when it comes to his computer privileges, too. ;)
 
hee hee hee about losing computer privledges. We have a Sr VP who was stripped of his laptop because he kept messing it up, and our Hardware group had to rebuild his machine 4x in 2 months.

Well, my favorite end user called me back, because he did not do the procedure the way I explained it to him, and messed it up worse than before. I talked him through, step by step, how to get back to square one, and told him he would have to call me on Monday, once our sales for the month were updated, and we could do the initial fix then. Now, follow along, he has called ME twice at this point. When I told him to call me, he asked for my number and EXTENSION!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rolleyes: :rotfl:
