How early did you get to the amiphitheater? We are trying to decide if we should eat before the show (not planning on doing the Fantasmic dinner package) or have a late dinner outside of MGM?

Any advice? Our group wants to either go to Mama Melrose before Fantasmic or ESPN to watch Monday Night Football after Fantasmic.

Any advice would be great!!

We saw Fantasmic on 12/1/05, it was a Thursday evening. I was part of a group of 5 and we arrived about 1/2 hour before the show. It was very crowded but we got seats. We were to the far left of the stage area, which meant after we entered the theatre we had to walk a ways before we even sat down. If you want dinner at Mama Melrose I'd suggest timing it to get to Fantasmic at least 45 minutes before the show.

ESPN for football sounds great but I've heard it can get very crowded on game days (and nights) You may have quite a wait for a table and could be eating a very late dinner.

We ate at Mama Melrose on Dec 8th (a Thursday, so a non-EMH day), we had a 5:30 ADR and still made the Fantasmic show at 7:00. We had no trouble getting a seat - we sat I think about 2 sections left of center, but we had only arrived about 20 minutes before showtime, so those were pretty good. A couple of things, though - 1) we didn't get dessert, but I'm not sure we would have had time, had we wanted to; 2) plus if you're going to need a bathroom break before the show, that takes time, too; 3) and remember Mama Melrose is a long walk from the theater! So if I were going to try it again, I'd make the ADR for 5:00 or even 4:30. Hope this helps!

we have gone to this several times. to us getting there anymore than 30-45 min early is a waste of time. we've gotten there as late as 15 min before the show and still got good seats. what most people won't tell you is that if you sit on the first 20-25 rows and if there is even a slight breeze you will get wet. because the water shoots 40 ft in the air. the show truly has no BAD seats because the stage is curved and some of the enterainment moves on the water from left to right and then right to left. we have sat as far back as 5 rows from the top and still could see just fine. plus it made for a quick exit in front of the crowd. there were always some empty seats because it seats around 10,000-12,000 people.

I saw it on Dec 11 walked in 15 min. beofre show got a seat dead center. I had just checked in at POFQ at 4:30PM Went to Guest relatons to activate my AP and walked right in grabbed a Hot Dog and Diet coke and found a seat. Worked out great. After show walked over to Osbourn Lights and it was wonderful. They had a second show that night as it was Magic Evening Hours Night. Was not crowed at all. A wonderful first night.
