I have a few questions about which rate is the one to go with. I called the Radisson directly, since we need 12 rooms. (I thought that maybe we could get a group rate.) Anyway, they told me that the best rates are on the internet and that it is $85 for a standard room and the suite with whirlpool was $129. She then said some room was $115 but I didn't know which one. When I got to the website, I didn't find anything at that price. I want to get a suite but there are several suite options and I'm not sure which one is correct. Do they all come with the free shuttle? Are there any promotional codes out there? Help!

WOW I cant even find those rates. I just hopped on to see about a 2 king suite for our November cruise and when I went to the site the cheapest rate I could find was 159 for the 2 kingf suite. This past October I paid 109 for the same room?

So far thats what it seems like to me NickyMouse. That stinks. Oh well, if I cant get a room for around that same rate then I will grab one off of priceline and pay to park at the port. The only reason I stayed there in October was because it was going to cost $70 to park and we needed a room so it worked out even IMHO. But not at $159 a night thats crazy!

I agree Amanda. Although I've never stayed there before, the prices seemed higher to me that what I was told.

NickyMouse ~

What are your dates? I just went on the Rad. site & got better than $159. I think there's only so many $85 ones. I put in 3/12/04 as an arbitrary date & got $109 1 King suite to $159 Corp rate.

When you do your search click on the bottom of the page - view all rates. Put in AAA as a promo code. Sometimes that's cheaper

Go to the Raddison site - www.radisson.com/capecanaveral/fl and enter your dates; you will be given 4-5 options; at the bottom of the screen there will be a "view all rates" option//click on this and you will see all available rates for your date.

They will show a package that includes cruise parking, however, it was our experience on two previous cruises that is was not necessary to pay an additional amount for cruise parking. You will be directed to park in the convention center parking lot ajacent to the hotel..they don't keep track of any vehicle or tag information and it is not a secured lot...it is park at your own risk.

The shuttle from the hotel can be extremely crowded and even with a reservation you may have to wait. Since you need 12 rooms I am assuming you will have numerous vehicles to park.

Last January we were in a similar situation and this is what we did: we carpooled to the terminal and dropped off family members and luggage. We returned to the Raddison and parked the vehicles and then the drivers retured to the terminal in one vehicle. We paid to park one vehicle at the terminal. When we returned those who had been designated drivers left to pick up the other cars at the Raddison and other family members were responsible for baggage claim. By doing this we were able to avoid any waiting for shuttle service to or from the terminal.

Hope this helps...

Hi. My date is Oct. 29th, 2004, but I don't see any $109 rate. I an not a AAA member, so won't they ask for proof if I use that code?

I booked a room at the Radisson by Internet for 89 $ a night for February 26th and 27th.

You have to check the website regurlaryl.

First I booked it for 99 $ and a few weeks later the rate of 89 $ appear. So I cancel the first one after booking the new one.

I have looked at view all rates. The cheapest I see is 139 for a single still crazy to me, since I know that I paid 109 for a 2 king suite on October 2003. My date this year will be nov 27th which is the Friday after THanksgiving. I just cant believe they want $50 more for the very same room.

I got the $85.00 rate for this July for a std room. Cheapest I've seen for a 2 king room was 159.00 I wanted to get that for the end of our cruise but I think thats pretty steep. Do all the 1 king rooms have a fold out couch? I've seen this as low as 129.00.

Try this...go to the Radisson site @ www.radisson.com/capecanaveralfl/ and enter your dates and click on "Go;" you will receive 4-5 listings; at the bottom on the listing click on "view all;" this will show you everything currently available including any applicable discounts with codes.

In my opinion there is no reason to purchase any special "package" that includes parking. Parking is located in the Radisson convention center parking lot adjacent to the hotel. It is not secured. They do not ask for vehicle or tag info; you are simply directed to park in the lot next door.

On our two previous cruises we also had numerous cars to park. What we did was deliver all the passengers and luggage to the terminal and then returned to the Radisson to park all the vehicles but one. This one was parked at the terminal. When we disembarked the designated drivers left the ship together and returned in the vehicle parked at the port to the Radisson to retrieve the other vehicles and then returned to pick up all the family members and luggage.

Other family members were designated to pick up all the luggage and meet the drivers. This allowed us to depart at our own pace without waiting in line for shuttles in either direction (can be extremely lengthy at debarkation--the shuttle pick up line is in the middle of the parking lot and is uncovered--think HOT or extremely HOT during certain times of the year!)

We saved $$ by parking 8 vehicles at the Radisson but it is park at your own risk type parking.

Hope this helps....

I just put in your date using goofysgal's link & I came up with the $85 standard room rate without any codes. Did you want the 2 bed king suite for $85? The cheapest I've seen that is $109, or $119 with a visit florida code last year.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn last Nov. & it was really nice, continental breakfast was included. There is no hotel shuttle, but maybe with your group being so big you could arrange for a private one to pick you up. The rates were around $90 - $100 - We did Hilton points... It's great if you have a rental car. - Drop at Avis, take their shuttle to Port.

Good luck!

We have a ressie for the night before our cruise. Normally I wouldn't have paid that much for a room just for 1 night, but I thought the free parking was a good deal. Now, I'm hearing that the transportation is not that easy. Is the high price and the free parking worth the hassle?

DVCcruise, I had nothing but wonderful shuttle service on our last cruise.( this was halloween week 2003) What we did was all of us drove to the port and dropped the luggage off, as well as myself, the kids and my mom. Than my DH and my father went back and caught the shuttle back. From what I understand it was crowded that morning. On the way back, we got to the covered tent right as a shuttle was pulling up, and were back to the Rad within 15 minutes. No problems at all. But I will not pay $159 to do this time, when I know I paid $109 in October. I might as well pay the $70 to park, then grab a room thru priceline(in Orlando) for hopefully $30. That would put me at $100 as opposed to $159.

Well for my date (July 2) the best rate I am getting is $119, which I paid for a 1 BR suite last summer! I guess that's what I get for traveling 4th of July weekend.

I cancelled my reservation at the Radisson for one at the new Ron Jon Resort. Go here for more info: http://www.ronjonresort.com/default.shtml

There is also a discussion about this resort here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=490104

I got a 1 bedroom studio that had 1 king bed and a queen pull-out sofa bed for $110 including tax for October 1. This resort looks great. I can't wait to try it. I figured instead of paying the $94 for a king standard room, I'd add a couple of extra bucks and stay here. The 217' water slide and lazy river also helped convinced me.

Check it out.

This place does look nice! Some questions:

1. Do you have to attend a presentation?
2. Free patking during cruise?
3. Shuttle to Port?
4. Did you call or request rates through email?

Thanks, Tiger

Since we aren't looking to buy and just to rent a room, we don't have to attend a presentation.

We're renting a car and returning it to Budget before the cruise so I don't know about parking or a shuttle. Although I think Shirley said that they are looking into the shuttle since there seems to be a demand for it.

I called the 888 number to get the rate for my stay.

Hope this helps.

I did just read Shirley's post - thanks for all of your info. Enjoy your stay!
